The silence that hangs between them is deafening. Ikaros stares off into the distance, taking a long, anxious drag of his cigarette. He can't deny that he's been avoiding Achilles--avoiding him for a long time now. The fates will always bring them together again and again, though, no matter how much Ikaros tries to fight it. The music of the club thrums loudly in the background, in his head, in his ears. He had tried to escape outside, but...
...But it doesn't really matter, in the end. "So what?" is what he finally says, unable to look Achilles in the eye. There was a time where Ikaros would've given anything to stay with him, to be close to him, to follow him to the ends of the earth. Now? He's not so sure.
"Look, 'Chilles, I--I know we haven't seen each other in a while, but it's for the best, don't you think?" He finally looks at him now, flicking his cigarette onto the ground and stamping it out. "Whatever we've got going on isn't good for either of us. I just, um--I'm happy, you know? And I just...when I look at you, I can feel my heart breaking all over again, okay? You know I love you, you know that, but I just...I can't keep hoping that you're gonna feel the same. I've accepted that you won't. I'd just rather keep my distance for a little while longer."
