MY TWO ALL TIME FAVORITE OCs, HOW RUDE. But maybe surprisingly... Gracie.

“I thiiiiiink you’re going to like this one,” Becca giggled, her stomach fluttering. She’d been waiting all day for Olly to get home so she could tell him the news, and she’d agonized most of the day about what the best way to tell him was. Even now, the butterflies in her stomach were equal parts excitement and nerves. She thought he’d be happy, but... what if he wasn’t? They were still so young, and when she flung the door open to their spare room, he was going to see that his wife had had a very busy day while she waited impatiently for him to get home from work. When he’d left for work, he’d just thought that Becca was home with a nasty case of stomach flu, and now...

“Okay, keep your eyes closed!” she instructed, although she’d already brought her hands up to cover them from behind anyway. If he was confused about why she’d been clutching her stomach and moaning in pain just a few hours ago, and now seemed like she was on top of the world, he didn’t say anything, and she could feel his face twist up in a smile from her antics. She slowly let one hand drop to turn the door handle instead, reminding him, “No peeking!” as she pushed up on her tiptoes and pressed a kiss to his cheek.

Then, she unceremoniously flung the door open, squeaked, “Ta da!” and let her hand drop from his eyes down to his hand, squeezing it gently as she tugged him into the room. She’d transfigured the furniture from a desk, and a rolling chair, and a bookshelf, to a crib, a hanging mobile, and a rocking chair, and she waited for Oliver’s eyes to go wide as he recognized what the furniture meant. And then, ever impatient, Becca blurted it out giddily instead. “We’re having a baby!”

“It was a little funny,” Becca giggled, stepping across the distance between her and Leo to wrap her arms around her friend in a hug. “You looked like you were going to have a heart attack, I can’t believe you took me seriously! Do you really think after all these years I’d try to keep you and Olly away from each other on Halloween?” She shook her head; she hadn’t even thought her lie about taking him to a couple’s murder mystery party had been believable, much less enough to make Leo look like he was about to cancel the whole holiday. “If I even thought about it, I’d be the one spending Halloween alone, silly, not you. Bros before me, duh!” 

“Wait, what?” Becca asked, shock in her voice as she looked down at the outfit she’d chosen for Oliver’s birthday. She wanted everything to be perfect, including how she looked, so she’d asked Ariana if she could come over and show her the outfit she had for his surprise. Ariana, though, didn’t seem impressed, and Becca was about to panic when she noticed the other girl handing her a beautiful dress, one that belonged to Ariana herself. “Try this on instead,” Ariana countered, and Becca felt like she could breathe again, as she happily took the dress and headed towards the bathroom to see how it looked.

“Yes, well, that’s what happens when your existence destroys someone’s parents marriage, I guess,” Becca replied, her tone laced with bitterness. She knew it wasn’t Persephone’s fault, and that she’d never meant to hurt anyone with the discovery of her real father was -- but the fact that she was Lucy’s sister, Lucy’s real, true, blood-related sister, had been too much for her to deal with. She’d been scared enough of losing Lucy to the smart, pretty Prefect before, but now that they were tied together by the same father? Becca’s paranoia had increased ten-fold. 

She could see the sting in Persephone’s eyes at her comment, but she couldn’t help it. She gathered her things, shoved them into her bag, and turned on her heel to leave, walking away feeling odd about the fact that for the first time she could remember, she actually agreed with a comment made by Molly Weasley.

Jonas snickered. It was cute when Lulu tried to be intimidating -- especially when the person she was trying to intimidate was his sister’s boyfriend, and not him. After all, Jonas could think of a lot of things he’d rather have Lulu do to him than kick him.

“Babe, I know you want people to be scared of you... but I think the bodyguard that follows you around already has that covered,” he told her, wrapping an arm around her and shaking his head as he accidentally crushed her dreams of being totally fierce.

Caleb realized too late that inviting Bailey J over for Shark Week had probably been a terrible idea; he’d totally lost track of what he’d even done wrong, but maybe the fact that he was ignoring her to stare at sharks was part of the issue. The one on screen was especialy cute, though, with its big pointy-toothed smile as it stalked its prey, so Caleb just shrugged at Bailey’s comment, talking quickly before the narrator began speaking again. “Sorry, can’t see your middle finger, looking at sharks.”

[text]: Wait, are you serious? That whole time we were performing on New Year’s Eve I had no idea she wasn’t wearing a bra. She was dancing around on stage like normal and everything.[text]: Aubs is a total genius! I probably would have been panicking if I’d been the one who didn’t pack a bra -- I might have even broken the decree for underage magic to make one appear.[text]: It’s official, I think we should put her in charge of all girl band costume emergencies from now on.

Becca may not be Persephone’s biggest fan, but watching her flounder around the party like this had her feeling second-hand embarrassment for the girl. This time last year, Becca had been just as uncomfortable at parties as Persephone seemed, so she crossed the room, reaching out and grabbing her hand and offering her a smile that might have looked more like a grimace. “Here, um... why don’t you dance with me?” Becca offered awkwardly, guiding the other girl onto the dance floor. “Um, the beat may be dandy, but let’s try to get you dancing on the beat, okay?”
