âNothing wrong with looking. Just know that I am old as dirt.â

Armitage wrinkled his nose, hoping they wouldnât be reeking. He was more reserved than his brother and didnât show it, but was utterly relieved to be out of his fatherâs house. The military academy was like a breath of fresh air. Â âIf you share a room with me, it wonât be reeking. You better wear deodorant. Come on, Alien. Letâs get moved in.â
Armitage picks up his heavy duffel and swings it over his shoulder, heading into the intimidating academy dormitories.
Aurelien glared at his twin brother, his lip quirking slightly in annoyance. It always pissed him off when Armitage called him Alien. âItâs Aurelien, Army, learn to use it.â He followed suit and picked up his duffel, then followed his brother.Â
âI am sure the other cadets would love to learn about all the names they could call you.â He had heard horror stories about the Academy, how it changed people, and Aurelien wasnât optimistic at all. He wouldnât want to be the one others decided to pick on. Not that he would let them.
âCome on.â He walked past his brother, ignoring stares from boys he didnât know. He found a room with both of their names marked on the door. His brother had eyes too so he didnât bother stating the obvious, that they both were in the same room, and just walked in.Â
âThe upper bed is mine.â He claimed it already, throwing his stuff there.
Me; seeâs that Kader is being talked about. Also me: hasnât actually redone his bio in over a year or more to make it make actual sense..

Her hand holds her fatherâs tightly as the preacher talks. Theyâre at a cemetery burying her mother and sheâs seven years old. She may be a child but she knew what was happening, she remembered how sick her mother had become and why they were at the hospital more often than not now days but Carol isnât sure she can say goodbye to her mother and part of her doesnât want to. Part of her wants this all to be a dream and sheâll wake up and itâll all be okay but thereâs something about the sadness in her fatherâs eyes that tells her it wonât so she holds his hand tighter and he lifts her up into his arms as they start to lower the black casket into the ground, Carol hides her face in her fatherâs neck as a tear slips down her cheeks. Her mother was gone and she wasnât coming back.Â
