I got up the next day (at 4.50am to write my essay, lolllll) and had a lovely, lovely day - had an excellent lecture and an excellent tute, wrote and handed in a decent essay, had a heart-building sesh with my spiritual director. So it was good. And today's been good too.

And now I've just made two trips to Sainsbury's and am going to bake some flapjacks (!!!) and try to be solidly in bed by 10pm.

Get out that pool!!!

I don’t tag my queued posts, because I don’t see the point. Could anyone enlighten me? Drawing attention to one’s own absence - and one’s use of a computer to act in one’s stead - strikes me as alienating and unsettling, like the pilot my father once told me of who waited until after the plane had landed to tell his passengers ‘I’ve had control of this plane for the last eight seconds exactly. We took off, flew, and landed entirely on autopilot.’ It’s supposed to be a story about how safe flying is, and how advanced technology is - it usually leads into a rant about how as the Victoria line is entirely automatic (fun fact for the day!) train drivers are (qua drivers, at least) obsolete - but to me it also speaks of the increasing mechanisation of human life (often for good) and interaction (often less so).

But if I were to begin queue-tagging (would converts care to convince me?) I’d now know what to use.
