i’m so glad you are too! this is great <3 xx
ladycirce replied to your post:omg one of my hold-ups has stopped holding up this...
This is very real and relatable problem, and a reason why hold ups should be limited to occasions where it is likely they will not need to hold up for long, cough cough
*eyes widen*
Thank you thank you thank you to all the people who sent love and prayers on Sunday; they were heart-warming to wake up to and it is such a gift to have you as a part of my life. ladycirce, aestheticvalues, roseoftopaz, anastrophic, flightandsundry, timeswhenlucywasright - and especially numenoreanhobbit and sponsa-dei. You are wonderful.
I got up the next day (at 4.50am to write my essay, lolllll) and had a lovely, lovely day - had an excellent lecture and an excellent tute, wrote and handed in a decent essay, had a heart-building sesh with my spiritual director. So it was good. And today's been good too.
And now I've just made two trips to Sainsbury's and am going to bake some flapjacks (!!!) and try to be solidly in bed by 10pm.
LOVE YOU ALL. xxx
@ladycirce said: it’s one of the best cities i’ve been to - you’ll love it! drink as much pilsner as possible, it’s ~33kr a pint which is about £1 = maybe 70 cents? and SO DELICIOUS
I didn't know you've been! I've only heard amazing things and my thesis director is leading a small intimate program there this summer. Her and her husband are teaching cultural appreciation-- her through literature and him through politics and history. Not to mention the budget flights/trains that'll get you to Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, etc on a dime. My sister studied in Italy this past summer while I worked full time the past two summers.. I'm thinking my parents will help me out. I can't wait.

Sleepover: Top three outfits?
Why are you doing this to me it is cruel.
So these change from day to day, season to season, but rn:
Class A, for formal occasions: 'Christmas doll' dress (Mad Men collection, Banana Republic, far right), with my black t-bar court shoes and my mother's string of pearls which she bought for herself with her first bonus. On top, my 'opera coat' - a statement plum number from L. K. Bennett with wide 3/4-length sleeves. Technical descriptions don't do it justice.
Class B, for middling occasions (the office of 'my' newspaper, dinners with friends, lectures on days when I'm pretending to have my life sorted): clingy knee-length merino wool dress, Gant, in navy blue with a maroon colour-block at the shoulders, with my tan leather monk-strap shoes with brogue-type detail on the toe. On top, my 'Cinderella rat' coat (Reiss), which is a long, slim, pale beige thing with a belt I tie at the back because if I tie it at the front it ruins the 'line' - 'and when you've got a line like mine,' I said to a friend of mine, 'you don't want to ruin it.'
Class C, for the everyday, i.e. waltzing down the road to my nearest coffee shop or to the local shops: simple black Topshop miniskirt with fat woollen tights, paired with whatever top I can find under my lovely, lovely sky blue jumper from Gap (Gap is hugely underrated, & super-ethical, apaz). On top, my 'Barnes mummy' gilet (also Gap), which is navy blue with a pale blue floral pattern.
Basically I am super-cute on every occasion.
Pls tell me some jokes.
