Luckily, my senses were not the best when I was affixed to the back of that incompetent man's head. Thank Merlin, in some ways. Though the turbans were washed regularly.
I have indeed experienced some... Things. In hindsight, I consider my adversities as almost an asset. How can one ascend as far if they had already been born on the top of the mountain? I climbed each ledge, suffered each setback, each injury. I can claim my self superior with ease. I wear these scars - proverbial and otherwise - with a new sense of pride.
It was not always like this. I used to feel shame at my circumstances, when I was young and enamored with all pureblood society had to sell me. I was relieved at the blank slate of my new body, no reminder of the man I was, the things I had been through.
Inevitably this body began to collect marks of its own, which distressed me at first - admittedly, I still do take pains to hide them from others, cannot allow my ranks to see me as anything but superhuman. But personally, I feel less distress now when I see them, and more...triumph. A private victory.
