When someone comes up to you speaking your birth country’s language and you are both confused and midly flattered they thought you were multilingual.

When they don’t understand that my real parents are the ones who are raising/have raised me. My bio parents are the ones from whose loins I sprung from. Both are important roles but there’s a difference people don’t always understand.

When people ask “do you remember your birth parents?” to which you must explain you were a baby when you were adopted.
