First of all, whoopsie and sorry Nonny for a very late reply! Found this from the mailbox and it’s been way quite a long time… 

Well since Sweden is our neighbour, we have studied some its history in the elementary school and during the upper secondary school but I have to admit, I don’t remember much of it so I had to check every student’s best buddy Wikipedia to refresh the memory.

You are absolutely right about that Adolf Frederick was practically only a figurehead as a king of Sweden whereas the ruling power was elsewhere. He also died 12.2.1771 after eating a huge dinner that indeed included semlas, sauerkraut, radish, lobster, caviar, smokedherring and champange. The Local.se- site wrote that Adolf actually ate 14 semlas during that faithful evening but anyway, it’s a huge amount and I really don’t wonder why also Big Mom loved them from the beginning.

Since this area isn’t that familiar so I could write long thoughts, all I can say is that you found a very interesting connection between Adolf and Linlin! *thumbs up* Since Oda-sensei is known for his detailed background work and that he uses history as an inspiration for the plots, making semlas Big Mom’s favorite can’t be just a coincidence.
