Right! For the ones interested! Admittedly Darkrai Adaline isn't actually a new idea, it's been one I've been playing with for a long time with @fujii-draws for fun! To be more specific, it's based on the fact that their Darkrai well...

Let's just say he doesn't live to see Ribbons become a sylveon.

And that gave me a thought, because surely there just wouldn't be no more darkrai forever if you kill the original right? Especially in a setting like pmd where there's only implied to be one, and that one in particular is indirectly referenced to be at least a minor deity

So! That's where this comes in! To put it simply, if Adaline was put into a setting where Darkrai died, I think she'd take his place for two reasons

One, because of her high empathy, and two, because she genuinely wants to help people

For my stuff, I do actually have a thought process for Darkrai if he was more like canon for my pmd stuff, and that process is basically he's not doing his job. For my au, he's supposed to be eating people's fears and nightmares, helping people process them and get past it, along with giving people fears here and there through nightmares when needed

Since he hasn't, fears start to become uncontrollable and all consuming when people can't process it by themselves, starting all sorts of chaos, chaos that makes him stronger since it's *intended* to help him wrangle it back into control, but we all know how he is

So someone that's his complete opposite, and put in the position to actually become attached to people would be the best option to be his replacement, right? The fact that she used to be human and needed a Pokémon form anyway were just bonuses
