I made a sock sweater for my MYou Bettina Male (28cm tall), from a pair of socks I purchased with the intention of making a sock sweater for my Limhwa Limho Mano (67cm in height). I then lost the socks, and I wasn't able to find them for a long time (think years!), then I lost interest in sewing or doing anything for my BJD, mostly because most of them are huge. Then I hoarded toys like a crazy nut job and finally got back into customizing toys after getting back into 1:6 scaled action figures a few years ago. Which, then led me to wanting to get a smaller BJD, and I got my Bettina in 2022, when MYou released their 28cm mature tines.

Not too long ago, I stumbled across these socks I got to make a sweater for my Mano, all those years ago. I purchase them from K-Mart before that one closed in the tiny touristy town I live in. I am super happy I found them, finally. I am not sure if they would have made a decent sweater for my Mano, because he's huge compared to this tinier dude, but I am glad I made a sweater with them in the end. They kept getting snagged on everything because they are like stockings, more than socks. Which was a pain to sew, but I suck at sewing so, I guess there's that. I also made a new pair of pants for him, but they are too big! I re-sized the pattern twice (it's meant for a much larger doll), but it is still too big. I will try again, hopefully with black matte fabric next time. Although, these were a pain and still managed to not turn good at all! DX

More of my recently repainted Limhwa Limho Mano. Now, back on his body. I am super happy with how he looks IRL. I suck at taking photos, and this is the first time I take photos of him, without an actual camera. I suck at taking photos, I can't ever say that enough, so I need all the help I can get. Cellphone cameras are awful at that for me. I used to take semi-not-too-craptastic photos with my vintage Samsung. Now, that one is dead, I feel (maybe it just needs a new battery, who knows). I can only rely on luck to get a semi decent, not too blurry but awfully pixelated photo, that may or may not be a completely different coloration than real life. T___T;;

I am a thousand percent to blame, because I am a klutz, I dropped my poor camera once too many on its lense. Now, I am stuck with crappy cellphone cameras, because I am too cheap to spend money on something I'll have to upgrade just every few years anyway. On the other hand, I could always get a new camera... except I suck, so I'll probably take terrible photos anyway, but at least I would know for certain it was all me sucking, and not the tool. Lol!

I got myself a CYTOYS Hani Sweet Dreamland single box from Amnz, to try my luck at getting one of the two boys. I thought my chances were greater than with the other series, from which I did managed to get one of the boys as my one single box purchase (so far). This one has only four regular characters, two girls and two boys. So, I thought the odds were at my advantage (more so than with the smaller dolls, and I was so lucky then). Despite me having terrible luck at these trading figure type toys. DX I didn't get either of the boys this time! I got the adorable hamster, that is "non/officially" called "Cute Hamster," but confused for a bear, apparently. Lol! She is super adorable, and just confirms that I must get the two boys, somehow. I know how to get the exact characters I want, i just wanted to try my luck! And it failed me, so now I'll have to go get the two boys without trying any of my terrible luck. at least now I know I'll love the boy ones, because I love the little hamster girl, and I didn't even want any of the girls! (:

I took slightly better lit photos of my repainted Ken Looks number 5, on his DamToys 1:6 action figure body, at the request of a friend to see comparisons between that body and his original (made-to-move?) Ken body. I am so happy with him, I kind of want to repaint more Ken. I never thought I would want to, since my first repaints of Ken doll didn’t have rooted hair, and that is my preference for fashion dolls. However, I love this head sculpt, and the fact that it is a rooted head, makes it just so much nicer (IMHO).  

I only regret not having the option to shrink his head a bit, since he does have a flocked under-shave; submerging the sculpt in acetone would melt the glue and ruin it. I rather keep that intact, since flocking it not something I plan on trying any time soon. I prefer smaller heads, on broader shoulders for my male dolls, so his proportions on the 1:6 action figure body are not exactly as I would have liked. However, they are better than on the super-cartoony (IMHO) default Ken Looks body. 

My repainting skills need a long way to go, before I am satisfied with them. Despite that, I am still very happy with how he turned out. I am also pretty happy to learn that his default stock fits on the 1:6 action figure body, except for the shoes. I was afraid the pants wouldn’t go past his thunder thighs, but they did, even went on the padding on his inner thighs (which I didn’t even think about removing). I hope the shirt won’t stain the rubbery upper torso. I was thinking about adding some amount of texture with mostly red toned acrylics, to give the body a better match to the Ken’s plastic, but maybe I won’t have to. Not because I am lazy, but if I don’t have to, I rather not try. DX
