I don’t know if people are just naive when it comes to politics or are just purposely dense to try to have some kind of leg to stand on when it comes to defend their fav.
1. Rhys and wing clipping. It is canon - which means ITS WRITTEN IN THE BOOKS - that Rhys banned wing clipping when he became high lord and it mostly came back when Amarantha ruled. It is also written that change comes very slowly and that to be rid of certain practices - entire generations would have to be slaughtered and they would have to raise the children themselves. That would literally be the next step in stopping it. It’s says it in the books, acosof if I’m not mistaken. Rome was not built in a day.
Stop saying Rhys could/should slaughter his own people and armies. That would literally make his entire court vulnerable to others and all those innocent people would be killed or worse. It makes absolutely no sense to do that politically, defensively or otherwise. Is it terrible? Absolutely, but Rhys is trying to actively stop it.
2. Nestas spending - Nesta has absolutely no claim to free money. She was stealing. They owe her literally nothing. Only because she was in the war does not mean her entire life should be paid for forever. You know who else fought? Literally everyone else AND they continued to be useful to the court, hence, having a regular paycheck. Stop acting like you don’t know how a job works. If anything, Nesta being in the war should have been some type of payback for how long Feyre took care of her and saved her life.
3. You can’t say we would love a male character with nestas attitude because we hate ‘strong’ women then in the same breath bash Feyre for becoming ‘just a mother’ and minimizing everything she’s done. Your internal misogyny is showing.
4. Taxes - please tell me I don’t have to tell anyone how taxes/ governments work. 🤦🏼♀️
If you can’t defend your fav with actual CANON facts and have to make up things and pretend to not understand how things work, are they really worth defending?
