So we’ve obviously got the entire half blood and pure blood situation with Remus and Sirius, but what about a Northern and Southern Remus and Sirius dilemma
Northern Remus who grew up with working class parents, who attended protests about their wages because they could never make enough to live truly comfortably. The fact that northerners have a lower life expectancy and a higher level of poverty, so Remus grew up in a darker area with more crime and more people entering the hospital. He saw many people pass away young from the violence on the street and was frightened of it. But he grew up with a closer community and he knew people more.
Compared to Sirius, who grew up in a wealthier area with less violence, poverty, and deaths of people he knew from school. His family earned more money from the more education that they were promised and had. And the fact that he was more isolated rather than being introduced into a community like Remus was. And even the accents, the way Sirius said shut up or what compared to Remus who said it much different.
The government cared more about Sirius’ way of life than Remus’. They focused on the issues in the southern areas rather than the northern because it wasn’t deemed important.
So Sirius’ and Remus’ gap in life isn’t only about their blood, it’s about the wealth, the hidden discrimination and the lack of empathy in their world.
