I fully agree with all the people that want to see Murderbot interact with Breq or Sidra or whatever combination of fun AI shenanigans (personally I think Owl and MoK would really hit it off)
BUT what we really need is that guy who makes the really deluxe black market Body Kits for AIs in the Wayfarers universe to come to the (Provisional) Republic of Two Systems.
That dude would be rolling in it if he could figure out how to mass produce some non-murdery ancillary bodies for AI’s there…
Just because someone goes away doesn't mean you stop loving them.

I just finished a closed and common orbit and I'm starting record of a spaceborn few tomorrow. I had to take a few minutes to let my crying end. This is the second book in my life to make me cry, and I- ok I'm gonna go off on one at some point because I have never loved anything the way I love this book.
I will sing it's praises eventually but for now I wanna highlight my single favourite thing about Chambers' writing (and I don't mean the OwO joke she slipped in at the end lmao). No, I mean the lack of universal stakes.
This isn't Star Wars, with huge monolithic stakes. This is intense, personal, slice of life stuff. Pepper's parts in the books are some of the most relatable, gut-punching moments in literature. The way people respect each other's boundaries and triggers, and are fucking kind. How Sidra processes with, and interacts with, the world just- that spoke to me like no author ever has.

“I’m different now. And different is good, but it cuts both ways.”

It's not comfortable, realising that you've been wrong about something, but I suppose it's a good thing to do from time to time.

I love learning. I love history. But there's history in everything. Every building, everybody you talk to. It's not limited to libraries and museums. I think people who spend their lives in school forget that sometimes.
