Latino as in short for Latinoamerica. As a place from here to there between two oceans. Latinoamerica as in some asshole country stole the name of the continent when they shortened theirs. Latinoamerica as in maybe a way to say everybody but usa and canada but not sure if we are excluding the few countries that got colonized by the fucking English.

Saw a post tags saying "how much of your everyday words/sentences could you actually use in an acedemic essay?" and I immediately thought of how for our linguistics class for the first 2 days we had very serious discussions about using yeet, the meaning, how it came into being, and the practical implications of yeet being forms into our vocabulary and how, since it's so popular, it's gonna be used by our generation(s) (gen z mainly but also millinial and the next one) for a long time and probably have its place in our English lexicon. So I mean, yeah I'd actually be using yeet in am acedemic essay this semester so those are some cool beans
