Forced responsibilities in school.
School. Good in it's own, and I can't say I hate it.Â
But there's one thing about it that really ticks me off. Group works. When you have to work together with a group of other human beings to present something, usually infront of a class.
If you're a person aiming for the high grades, which I am.. it's really bothering to be put in group with people that simply don't care and put all the responsibility on you. That's happened me twice this month. Let me tell you about the first example;
Assignment one (Sociolects); I was put in a group with 3 different people, great I thought. If I could get these to work, maybe we could end up with something nice! Our job was to write about the internet sociolect. Turns out, I was the only one who knew anything about it. Oh, right... They knew some things, such as "Lol" and "Brb". Shortenings in other words.
Anyhow, during the time we were supposed the work. They discussed hot girls on Facebook and Football. Alright, I thought, as long as they get the work done. HAHA! Silly, silly me.
The first guy sent in his work on time, the second sent his the day after, The third guy, oh... the third guy. I told him to send me his work before the break. Nope. Before the break was over? Nope. before 6PM the day after the break? Nope? 12AM the day after? Nope. 1AM? Nope. 2AM? Nope. He told me he was working on it, and that he was almost done. Not until I threatened to kick him out of the group he sent me his work.Â
HE GAVE ME 3 SENTENCES AND COMPLAINED THAT HE HAVEN'T HAD ENOUGH TIME TO DO IT PROPERLY.
I need a huge cup of tea..
