New Blog
Hi guys, I decided to make this rowing blog basically because I post so much rowing on my main one and I also just need a good place to vent about all things crew. So, about me... I've been rowing since fall of my freshman year of high school (I'm a junior now). I am nowhere near the best rower on my team but I try my hardest and give my everything to this sport. My two spring seasons so far I have rowed 7 seat and I am forever in love with that seat. This fall I rowed in 4 seat and I gained a new love for it. I never thought I'd like being in the bow 4, but I really enjoy 4 seat. I have stroked at 2 races before and both turned out awful so that's not really for me... I am 5'7" which may seem short in rowing terms but I'm actually one of the tallest on my team (we have at least a boatful who are 5'4" and shorter). This fall I had the privilege to row in the Head of the Charles and it was truly something I will never forget. It was the coolest thing in the world to be around people from all over the world who love rowing just as much as I do. Also, hearing the announcer call my school's name as we neared the end of the course made me smile so big and got me so excited. It was such an amazing opportunity that I will be forever grateful that I had. I think this is long enough for now, feel free to message me with any questions, comments, etc. and please follow me! I'm not really sure what this blog will become at this point but I'll see where it goes.
I hate rowing seven seat because it's like the forgotten seat. The cox and stroke always discuss what's best for the boat as if they're the only two who know and who feel the rush, meanwhile 7 is the one who is holding off all the rush from stroke seat and is taking even shorter strokes than them because I'm trying so hard to hold off the rush. But no one thinks to ask 7 how the piece was or what problems the boat has because apparently it's just another seat in the boat, not the person that is stroke of starboard side, or shows the whole boat how to follow stroke, or helps hold off the rush.
