I smile, euphoric at your awkward words

But then you don’t get to experience the unique euphoria of the first warmish sunny day in March when you realize that sure, there may be a few more cold days, maybe even one last snow storm, but that spring is nearly here. The long stretch of gray and cold is over. The birds are back and chirping, the snow is melting, it’s no longer dark at 4:30, and it kind of makes you feel like breaking into a song and dance number on your walk home from work, but you don’t.
