Shoot Your Shot [Soccer!Cal AU]
part 9Â
Bia took her time preparing herself for this party. Cassidy said that if she was going to hurt someone who hurt her, it would be best to look fucking hot while doing it. Bia hadnât been dressed up since her (failed) party, and she felt good when she finished getting ready. Usually, she would wear natural makeup, just accentuating her features. Tonight, however, she went all out. Bia had to admit she felt really fucking hot. She still wasnât sure she wanted to go through with the supposed prank, though. While, yes, Calum had hurt her, it had been a mutual thing. No matter how angry she was, she had to admit that she was partially to blame. ||
Cal found it a little strange that he had been invited to a party that Cassidyâs sorority was throwing. A party just like this one had been where he had met Cassidy, but Cal knew that those greek sisters held grudges of legend. That probably meant that Cassidy hadnât told them they broke up. Cassidy was all about image, though, and Cal supposed it made sense. So he threw on a hoodie and started walking towards her sorority house.||
The party had been raging for a full hour and Bia still hadnât seen any signs of Calum.  She had to admit, though, she was having a pretty great time. She had drank enough to start feeling tipsy and hot guys were flirting with her continuously. It was actually pretty nice to just be some badass flirt for a night instead of her usual shy self. Bia had decided that she would let herself finally be free tonight, free to have a good time and just say yes. She went fucking wild and had a great time just partying and playing beer pong with fuckboys who were trying too hard. Cassidy just stared at her in awe. She had never seen Bia act like this, and Cassidy was glad that she had been a part of Biaâs transformation. Now that she had gotten to know Bia a little bit, Cassidy really thought that Bia deserved to be happy. Hell, Cassidy even went as far as to call them friends. Tonight would be good for the both of them. ||
As soon as Cal walked in the door about three girls offered him drinks. He smirked a little. It was nice to know he still had some game. He had been out of the dating circuit for a while, so his flirting was a little rusty. But, after a few minutes, he realized he never quite lost that Hood magic he and Mali both seemed to possess. He made a few rounds around the party, talking and chatting with people he hadnât seen in a while. Between soccer and classes and his friends, he just hadnât had time to kill on people he didnât truly like. He handât seen Cassidy yet, though. Calum actually found that a little strange. Cassidy was usually the life of the party, everyone gathered around her all the time. It wasn't like he was complaining, though. Not in the least. Cassidy had been less than thrilled when he had broke it off with her, especially when he failed to come up with a good lie as to why he was done. He hadnât told her about his feelings for Bia, though. There was no need to add insult to injury. Cal had been at the party for all of thirty minutes when he ventured out back, to the patio. He had to admit it was set up really nice. There were Christmas lights strung along the patio, three beer pong tables all in a straight row across the wall, and an in ground fire pit with tasteful patio furniture around it. A few people were hovering around the lit fire, making smores and drinking. It was a cozy atmosphere and Cal enjoyed being out there. The area gave off some really happy vibes, making Cal wonder why he had never seen it before. He had been to Cassidyâs sorority house before, and he had definitely been to parties here before, but he had still never seen the outside area before.  For a while he just hung out, enjoying the fresh air. It was a bit chilly, especially since it was November, but Cal was still warm thanks to the alcohol and his leather jacket. Cal attributed much of his flirting game to said jacket. He found that a lot of girls found it arousing, him playing the role of a bad boy. Still, he was a sensitive guy at heart no matter how many leather jackets he owned. So when he heard screaming and looked over to see Bia playing beer pong, it was no wonder he froze. Bia was playing doubles with a guy from the baseball team, some guy named Noah. Cal knew he was generally a nice guy, knew that most girls on campus found him attractive. That didn't stop Cal from instantly hating him as soon as he saw Noah with Bia, however. Cal then scolded himself. He was being irrational, jealous, possessive, even. Nothing was going to happen between the two of them. Right? Bia had just won the game for them, throwing a perfect arc into the opposing teams last cup. Cal could tell she was kind of tipsy by the way she giggled at almost everything, the way her cheeks were lightly flushed, the way she flirted with Noah like there was no tomorrow. She and Noah both tipped their heads back and screamed with elation when her ball hit the liquid with a plop. When he saw Bia launch herself at Noah, encasing him in a tight hug, he felt sick. When he saw Noah pick her up and spin her with joy, both of them still insanely close, he felt his heart crack. And when he saw them kiss, his world dulled. He couldnât quite get his bearings, but it seemed to him that his perception of beauty had died a little. The fairy lights werenât quite as endearing. The smell of fire and roasted marshmallow wasnât quite as sweet or as smoky. The stars just werenât quite as bright as they once had been. If this is what Bia had felt all that time Cassidy was keeping him away from her, then it was a whole new level of guilt for him. Calum quickly shoved his hands in his pockets and walked out the front door. There was nothing for him here. ||
Bia was tipsy. She knew that full and well. Yet, when she found her inebriated self locking lips with Noah, she didnât mind that much. Sure, she was in love with Calum. Loved Calum with her whole heart, even. But she had come to a point where Bia had to ask herself if she actually had a shot with Cal. And when she couldnât lie to herself anymore, Bia had decided to move on. Noah pulled away first, his strong hands still on her hips and her arms still thrown around his neck.Â
âAre you sure you want me? I mean, not that I don't want you, but you seem just a little drunk.â Noahâs mother had raised him right. There was no way he was going to have sex with anyone at a party, especially a girl who he knew was drinking hard. Still, he would love it if she was interested. Bia was one of the absolute hottest girls at their school.Â
âBabe. I don't kiss people Iâm not interested in.â Bia smirked and tried to act as sultry as possible. Badass Bia wasnât saying no, nor was she taking no as an answer. ||
