Day 2 of the #5DaysofColor challenge is Shades of the Same Color. Of course I picked blue! Not only is it a classic tea time colour, but I just happen to own quite a few blue pieces. And I serendipitously planted bachelor’s buttons in my garden this year, which brought a lovely living element to the composition. I’m excited to be participating in the #5DaysofColor challenge hosted by @evakosmasflores and @bealubas for the next few days. The first day is all about contrasting colors. I’ve always loved pink and green together; as pink is adjacent to red, it’s eye-catching and harmonious, but without the Christmas vibes. These colors always remind me of gardens and flowers- fresh, growing, living beauty. Depression glass comes in so many fun colors, and I happen to have a few pieces in green. The fifth and final day of the #5DaysofColor challenge is Color that You Wouldn’t Normally Play With. Brown is always a background or accent colour for me: the finish on a wood table, the cutting board beneath a colourful array, the tea or coffee inside a beautiful cup. It was easier than I thought, however, to give it the spotlight. Homemade coffee ice cream sandwiched between store-bought molasses cookies (doing the partial least, à la Camp Joy @joythebaker ). Day 4 of the #5DaysofColor challenge is Color that Reflects Summer to You. So many colours mean summer to me: blue like the ocean and big skies, green like freshly mown grass, pink and purple like the flowers that come into season. But ultimately I chose white. When I romanticise summer I think of crisp cotton sheets that feel cool to the touch after a hot day, lacy curtains that blow in the breeze, white dresses for running through fields, and pale lemonade on endless repeat. Day 3 of the #5DaysofColor challenge is Super Colorful. There may not be an entire rainbow of colors here, but the ones that are are bold and super saturated. My grandma made this tea cozy for me and it matches some of my teacups perfectly!
