Ingredients: 1 cup butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 cup brown sugar, packed. 2 large eggs. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon baking soda. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 2 cups rolled oats. 1 cup chocolate chips. 1 cup chopped nuts e.g., walnuts or pecans.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 350F 175C. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, and then stir in the vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the rolled oats, chocolate chips, and chopped nuts. Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
