I want to emphasize here that you did not receive the gift because of your deeds. We are all so undeserving from this gift He offered us because we are all sinners, as you have prayed in the first article. Yet, He gave it freely. You already accepted your gift, but it does not end there. You have to NOT WASTE IT. Now this is the hardest part. You have to keep it carefully. Do you understand? From now on, be good. Turn away from drugs, from porn, addiction, self-harming, anything that you think is bad in the sight of God, and anything that feels you guilty of doing. Turn your back from all of them.
You’re thinking you can’t do it. Me neither. I am not trying to discourage you; I just know that you can’t. But here’s the thing: that is the best news ever. You want to know why? It’s because God likes to take our weaknesses. He likes taking them to transform us into that person He wants us to be. You are left with no other option but to give your weaknesses to Him. Try it, and I’m sure you will soon want to give ALL your life to Him, not just your weakest parts. How are you going to give your life to Him so you will not sin anymore? Surrender. Surrender with a prayer. Again, you can pray your own prayer but you can also follow the prayer below. I want you to say it with all your heart. You can even shout and be crazy just to let God know that you are sincere in letting Him take the steering wheel of your life, and you just going to the back seat and be silent and trust Him wherever He goes. So let’s pray:
Abba Father, I thank You that You led me into Your will again. You are my Creator and You really know my whole being. My weaknesses and strengths alike. I really want to be that person You want me to be, and I cannot be that person if I am going to rely on my own, I am weak Father, but You are strong. Please be my strength as You mold me and please make me trust You fully. Father, I want to turn my back from the sins You have forgiven me from. I really want to. Please help me into this; I know nothing is impossible for You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
Now, how are you going to know if what you’re doing is right or wrong? Don’t worry. God is not going to leave you ignorant with what is right or wrong. He provided you a manual so you would know what to do. Read the Bible. I suggest that you start with the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John. Just read until you feel God’s voice talking by the Scriptures you are reading. Then record them into a notebook. You’re going to do a journal. A journal is a daily thing, right? So you are going to do it every day. Preferably, every morning. So you would be ready with what lies ahead of your day, and most importantly, you’re going to have directions from God. But it’s really up to you, choose your own time. Choose also a quiet place. Imagine it like a date with God. We call this journal thing “Devotionals”, or “Devo.” You can start with doing your devo’s with 15 minutes, and let it grow. Soon you will be doing it 1 hour, 2 hours… then after you wrote them, pray to God that you’ll be able to apply it in real life by His grace.
Be excited with what God will reveal to you during your date with Him. :))
