You're the first to hear
Your words.
Before they leave your lips, you hear your voice spouting every word.
Careful, they can't ever be taken back, sentiment included. We have to be conscious of what we put out. Where are you pouring from?
IT matters. All of it. Every broken piece that builds you into the creation of art that you've become. Deserving of self love and appreciation.
Commitment and focus are required for your destination. Take your time.
Enjoy the views along your journey. Stop and illegally pick a flower. Take a picture with a state famous statue. Live your words, enforce your demands of life.
A tongue of anger, burns deeper than fire. Your story is to be built in time. Convictions flow as naturally as a river, negation of this reality leads no where.
Accept your self encompassed in your tragedies, valleys, praises and triumphs. Be boastful about the work that's being done in you. Through you. Someone can find Him if you’re faithful.
“Faithful through the ages”.
“Though the storms may come, and the winds may blow I’ll remain steadfast.”
“Great is your faithfulness, to me”.
What’s been keeping you? Where are you pouring from? What do you hear?
My new method for addressing stress is as follows: feel the situation, address whatever urgency (fight/flight/flee) starts to rise, and then take a few deep DEEP (cathartic to be honest) and recognize that an obstacle is meant to be overcome and I will take that challenge even if it means I need to ask for help, reach vulnerability, or process it out. In the meantime there’s always baking which is one of my favorite outlets. Sometimes it’s less about eating the final product and more about the science and artistry of combining ingredients (especially when it’s gluten free),flavors, and decorating. When I look at something aspects of life like they are art, I feel happiness and joy. Recipe to make// * 1/3 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie mix) * 2 T neutral oil * 1/4th cup honey or maple syrup * 1 1/2 cups chickpea flour * 1 tsp cinnamon * 1/2 tsp pumpkin spice * 3/4 tsp baking soda * 1 large egg or egg replacement * 1 tsp of @foursigmatic Sigmatic 🍄 Blend (optional but has no taste + blends well!) . #glutenfreerecipes #thefeedfeedglutenfree #grainfreebaking #letstalkaboutit #letitout #selfcareisgrowth https://www.instagram.com/p/B7WoNnIgYKG/?igshid=1ptj1ch9eczel

Hi guys 👋🏻 Yesterday I took part in a discussion about Racial Experiences in the industry hosted by the very cool @tinubellomanicurist of @colourriotnails. This was a two part IGTV which you can watch on her IGTV @tinubellomanicurist 🗣 Tinu gave a platform for artist to share their racial experiences within our industry. Several artists spoke up about their experiences including @awelondon & @nailsbyjmagic! Some artist did not feel comfortable going on the live so Tinu shared their story. Tinu was joined with a huge following of wonderful artists including @nichole_wills @nailsbymets @bangbangnails @cherriesnow @vb_nails @nailedbysg @yasmineelwakil @clawgasmic @funmibellomanicurist @ldoesnails & many others. In this two part IGTV Tinu BRAVELY discusses inequality within our industry in terms of fashion week representation, magazine and editorial publications , the retail sector, large beauty events & even instances with the general public! This took courage! I encourage you to watch these two IGTVs because this issue can not just be a trend that passes. We need to keep up momentum. There is along way to go with systematic racism & social reform. However this can be a moment in time, with the world in crisis, to rebuild the new norm, not just focusing on regulating education in our industry & elevating our standards, but having an honest look at where we are failing our non white artists and educators ! #letstalkaboutit #blm #equality #racialequality #nails #nailindustry #beauty #speakup #speakupspeakout #hope @treatwell_uk @britishbeautycouncil @scratchmagazine (at London, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBU1NBQgGW-/?igshid=19abpd41hx1ig

We won’t stand any longer....
This article popped on my timeline about a TV reporter named Diletta Leota, who was shouted sexist remarks at by male soccer fans.
the comments are down below...
You see i thought long and hard about what i could say to each and every comment. I could call them out on their sexist bs, and get into arguments with them, and make them regret even saying what they said. Until i thought of a better idea. Social media is a very powerful tool that people use to troll and say hurtful things without ever really being punished for it. I took the time this morning to take screen shots of each comment. i wanted to show you all these horrible people and what their names were, i wanted them to understand what it feels like to be harassed.
But i soon realized i’m bigger than that. Instead i wanted to show all of you non-believers, that sexism is still loud and alive. These are the people who side with the rapist. These are the people who say that the way we dress excuses someone harassing us. These are the people who say boys will be boys. These are the people who say we should take someone catcalling us as a compliment.
I say people because a lot of them weren’t just men as many of you would probably expect. A lot of them were women. Our sisters. Our aunts. Our mothers. Our Grandmothers. Our Daughters. We as women our supposed to stick together. I don’t care what god you believe in, what the color of your skin is, hell, i don’t even care if you believe the earth is flat. This is all bigger than that. This effects us all. As Women. Our future daughters and granddaughters, will be ruined if we let this continue. We are more than pieces of meat for men to stare at and grope on the sidewalk. We are beautiful creatures, both in and out, yes, but beautiful things are treated with care and delicacy. Beautiful things aren’t supposed to be told how to be beautiful, they just are. Beautiful things are kept safe. Beautiful things are appreciated. Beautiful things are looked at and treated with respect.
To those who have ever said nasty and horrible things like this, would you say it to your mother? what about your daughter? Sister maybe? If you wouldn’t say to them, why say it to someone else? Don’t you realize that they are also someone’s daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, cousin, best friend, etc.? This behavior is inexcusable and disgusting. I as a woman will not stand for it. Will you?
