I'm late as per usual but Iâm excited to share this one because my writing has gotten better but I keep not finishing the fics with my better writing in it, and because I donât think Iâve actually shown Lecrinnâs and Garrusâs dynamic yet.
This supposed to be a quick snippet ended up 1,000 words so 700 words of it are under a read more.
Please tell me what you think!

As afternoon turned to evening Cheydinhal grew colder and darker, a fog beginning to thicken. No one was outside who didnât have to be, leaving the streets near empty. It was the kind of quiet that felt somehow peaceful and spooky at the same time.
Walking through the streets Garrusâs steps were purposeful but heavy, his face a tired scowl. Just a few more patrols and he could go back to the barracks for supper and a much needed break, albeit a too short one.
Nearing the east gate he stopped, the scowl fading.
There stood a familiar Redguard woman. The red hood and skirt that always accompanied her leather armor made her stand out against the fog. Her hood had fallen down as she stared up at the gray sky, her short reddish brown hair framing her light brown face.
âLecrinn?â He said with a surprised smile.
      Looking down she smiled back.
âWhat are you doing here?â he walked up to her. âI thought you had to go to Bruma.â
âI did,â she stepped towards him, âbut I ended up back in the area so I thought maybe we could go to the Newlands Lodge for supper.â
âOf course!â His smile brightened before faltering. âUh, but first I must finish my patrol and pass my shift on.â
âNo you donât!â One of the gate guards yelled to him. âWeâll take care of that, you go with her.â
He looked at him annoyed. âI cannot just abandon my patrol.â
She linked her arm with Garrusâs, pulling him along. âCome on, if you get in trouble just say you got kidnapped.â
      âAm I being kidnapped?â
âMake sure he actually takes a break!â a guard yelled from the wall.
She raised an arm to wave back to them. âWill do!â
TESCheer, day 1: Cozy
@tescheer
Winter had settled fast in Whiterun, it was easily the coldest it had been there for 10 years, and Jaina hated it. Having a Nord mother and Dunmer father meant that she could withstand heat better than Nords⌠but it also meant she couldnât cope as well as them in the cold winters.
Farkas and Vilkas were still training in the courtyard of Jorrvaskr, despite the cold. Jaina left the mead hall, pulling her cloak tighter as she approached the twins. Vilkas was the first to see her, he gave her a smirk as she moved next to his brother.
âCome on Jaina, itâs not that coldâ he said with a chuckle. Jaina stood next to Farkas for a moment, she could feel the body heat radiating off him, if he wasnât in his full steel armour she would have hugged him in an attempt to warm up
âAre you both nearly done out here?â
âJust about, go back in Jaina, weâll be in soonâ
Ah⌠this is much better, she thought as she pulled her blanket a little higher, Vilkas was sat reading to her right, and Farkas was sat strumming a tune on his lute to her left, they were giving of heat like the Skyforge
âFeel better now Jaina?â Vilkas asked, she smiled as she snuggled up to him
âYouâre both so warmâ
I wonât be doing every day but Iâm looking forward to the ones I have ideas for

Something Cozy
Hello! I have no idea if Iâll be able to finish it, but this year Iâm going to try my best to participate in @tescheerâ âs 25 Days of TES Cheer holiday event. Although these will not be specifically Christmas themed, more like winter time and the general feelings of slowing down and being with friends/family at the end of the year.
Without further adieu, here is Day 1, of which the prompt is âcozy.â
I don't know if I will do every day of this but I figured it wouldn't hurt. Plus it helps inspire my desire for writing again, which has suffered recently. Not a long piece but here is Day One: Cozy for @tescheer and the 25 days of TESCheer prompts.
Much like the nights of the desert, the northern cities in Skyrim were freezing. Flurries of snow billowed around the caravan, the wind howling like a beast as the blizzard roared on. Azirina poked her head out of the tent briefly before ducking back inside. Even in the few moments she was exposed, her ears felt frozen and snow covered her head. She shook her head, watching snow cascade from her hair and down to the floor.
"Little moon-chaser, what did this one say?" A voice chided her softly. She looked up, her ears going flat as a taller Khajiit walked over to her. She looked down briefly.
"To not leave the tent." She replied. "But, this one did not leave the tent, Jo'yla. She only stuck her head out for the briefest of moments."
"A brief moment is all that is needed to let the warmth out during a blizzard, little moon-chaser." Jo'yla countered as she closed the entrance back up. "And all that is needed to damage your ears. Come now, warm yourself by the fire whilst this one makes us dinner." Azirina watched the older female disappear to another part of the tent before approaching the closed fire pit.
Warmth radiated from it, wrapping her in a gentle embrace as she approached. She stood before it, holding her hands out to warm them by the flames. The contrast may have been startling to some, but her time in the desert had taught her how comforting the flickering flames could be against the cold. She stared into them, watching them lick against the metal of the pit when something suddenly engulfed her.
She jolted, letting out a small yelp before looking back. Jo'yla chuckled as she pulled the blanket from her head and wrapped it around the small Khajiit.
"Khajiit should always be prepared for the cold." She smiled as she crouched before Azirina. She held a mug out to her, stirring a spoon within it briefly to mix the honey into the milk. "Do not forget to blow on it." She added as she stood. Azirina watched her head back to the little kitchen before raising the mug. She blew on it briefly before taking a sip of the warm milk. It slipped down her throat and curled in her stomach, warm fingers stretching out through her body.
With the blanket around her and the warm drink in her hands, she found the cold had been chased away. Her ears flicked back and forth as she heard the wind howling outside. The blizzard raged on around them. But inside the tent, all was warm and comfortable. And not even the snow outside could remove this feeling. She smiled softly as she looked back into the flames. A feeling of comfort and warmth embraced her, reminding her of those cozy nights, curled up beside her mother as her father told her stories. That feeling, whilst not exactly the same, was returning.
For the first time since she fled Elsweyr, Azirina Kharabbi felt like she was home.
25 Days of TES cheer: Kiss Me, masking flaws with semi-dramatic lighting? It's more likely than you think. That ridiculous height difference requires some creative solutions. Don't ask how that ladder's physics work; it's magic.
