Games - sometimes we like to have little roleplays, when we aquire a new suit...
You and your red teammates would work to dethrone the queen in your session, while the blue team members would take on the entirely separate set of royal adversaries in their own session. This was to be a competition, after all.
Or so you thought.
I think it’s time we cracked this one wide open.
It’s abundantly clear, at this point, that we’re in a single session - so what’s with these two Temples?
Aww, Karkat made a Regisickle! Jack must be proud.
Weapons are redundant for these two, though. They are the weapons.
You were joining a particularly unusual bifurcated session, meant from the start to receive all twelve players through two separate connection chains.
So it’s a single session, containing both Temples? I guess there’s nothing stopping Sgrub from spawning two of them in a single Veil, if the game decides it’s necessary.
I think I know why it was necessary, too. Sgrub knew that this group of trolls would never cooperate by choice - so it convinced them they were rivals, and they were all too eager to compete.
They didn’t realize they were a team until it was too late. Hell, half of them still don’t know it.
Wait, was the session’s bifurcation related to Sollux's virus all along?
The bifurcation of teams is very much his style - it was even pointed out in-universe. He was the one to program Sgrub, after all, so maybe it inherited some quirks from its creator.
For that matter, what about this young lady? What is HER deal???
Yes! Yes! Yes!

Faded Memory
A memory is worn and aged, Its surface scratched and faded into sepia. What it depicts still exists, It just looks different outside the light of nostalgia.

Reading Journal
2312 by Kim Stanley Robinson. I’m loving the language instantly! I wanted to read more by this author because I have enjoyed the Mars trilogy immensely. And because I needed to buy a paper based-book as a present and also to use up a gift card I decided to buy this volume in the paper-based form and not the digital. It is so satisfyingly thick! I will have a great time for a long time :)
