Lost and Delirious, Rebelles in French, is a 2001 Canadian drama film directed by Léa Pool, and based on the novel The Wives of Bath by Susan Swan. It is her first film in English. Lost and Delirious is told from the perspective of Mary (Mischa Barton), who observes the changing love between her two teenage friends, Pauline (Piper Perabo) and Victoria (Jessica Paré). The movie is about the friendship among three teenagers, two of whom are in a romantic relationship, and how they experience it within a private school. Throughout the entire film, the girls question their relationships with each other and the authority of others, while desperately trying to find true love and emotional connections in their confusing adolescent lives. It is a movie that deals with internal and external dilemmas about being homosexual, how obsessive love can become when one truly loves, and the way one approaches life based on how much importance they place on what others think.

Lost and Delirious se narra desde la perspectiva de Mary (Mischa Barton), quien observa el cambio en el amor entre sus dos amigas adolescentes, Pauline (Piper Perabo) y Victoria (Jessica Paré).

La película trata sobre la amistad entre tres adolescentes, dos de las cuales mantienen una relación amorosa, y de cómo la viven dentro de un colegio privado. A lo largo de toda la película las chicas, se cuestionan sus relaciones entre una y otra y la autoridad de los demás, mientras intentan desesperadamente buscar el verdadero amor y las conexiones emocionales en su confusa vida adolescente. Es una película que trata sobre los dilemas internos y hacia fuera sobre el hecho de ser homosexual, sobre lo obsesivo que puede llegar a ser el amor cuando se ama de verdad y sobre la forma con la que una se toma la vida según la importancia que le dé a lo que los demás piensen.

Galactic Creatures at Play

The pair of strange, luminescent creatures at play in this image are actually galaxies — realms of millions upon millions of stars.

This galactic duo is known as UGC 2369. The galaxies are interacting, meaning that their mutual gravitational attraction is pulling them closer and closer together and distorting their shapes in the process. A tenuous bridge of gas, dust, and stars can be seen connecting the two galaxies,, during which they pulled material out into space across the diminishing divide between them. 

Interaction with others is a common event in the history of most galaxies. For larger galaxies like the Milky Way, the majority of these interactions involve significantly smaller so-called dwarf galaxies. But every few aeons, a more momentous event can occur. For our home galaxy, the next big event will take place in about four billion years, when it will collide with its bigger neighbour, the Andromeda Galaxy. Over time, the two galaxies will likely merge into one — already nicknamed Milkomeda.
