#2017positivity

1) I was up against 60 other applicants for my dream job and got it! 😎

2) I moved 500 miles, away from friends and family to begin said job. I was super lucky because my girlfriend chose to move with me 🎉

3) My girlfriend and I moved into the cutest little cottage in the nicest rural setting and we have really awesome landlords 🙌🏻

4) I’ve been on 12 flights this year to some cool places ✈️

5) I won an employee recognition award within the first two months of starting work which was a record for my site 🥇

6) I’ve made some really awesome new friends since relocating - I hope I’ll have them in my life for a while 👭

7) I’ve been on soooo many adventures with my girlfriend ⛰

8) I feel the happiest and least stressed I have done in a while. Turns out moving away from a city works wonders 😃

Looking forward to seeing what the future holds 🤙🏼

Good things that happened to me in 2017:

- I ended a relationship I wasn’t happy in. It was a hard decision but it was the right one. I know better now what I kind of relationship I want.

- I recovered from that breakup, though I never thought I could.

- I made friends who now mean the world to me.

- I learned that I‘m not as hard to love as I thought.

- I finished my A-levels.

- I got to see London, Ireland and the beautiful mountains of Norway.

- A month on the road with my best friends. They are the most amazing people and we had a great time. Learned much about the world, Europe and myself.

- I celebrated my 18th birthday and got a driver‘s license.

- I discovered more awesome music to listen to.

- I actually managed to continuously use a Bullet journal and it made my life a lot easier.

- I visited two festivals and got to see many great concerts, including some of my absolute favourite artists

- I learned being confident.

- I learned being proud of myself.

- I made wonderful plans for 2018 :)

Super jealous of your skills–I’ve got a black thumb!

1. I finished the last of my university classes for my undergraduate degree. I officially graduate in May.

2. I married a beautiful woman, whom I am looking forward to continuing to build my life with.

3. I overcame a lot of hardships this year, but learned just how strong I am in the process.

4. My wife and I got a new place. It’s in a beautiful location near the lake. We’re slowly making it our own.

5. I was offered (and accepted) a new job. The pay is great and I already like my new coworkers.

6. I quit smoking a month ago.

7. I’ve been making healthier decisions and have been noticing amazing changes in my overall health.

I met someone I loved and had a lot of nice moments with him and my life was a lot better… even tho we sadly don’t talk anymore by now.

I passed all my exams of the second semester.

I went to a cool festival with my friends.

I had lots of nice moments with 2 friends.

I saw people from primary school again and we still got along.

My cat was sick a few times but always recovered.

I went to Nice with my dad in February and to Sète in July and to Colmar in October.

I met friends from my time abroad again and it was great.

I got a job!!!

I made friends with people from my uni.

I realized how much I love doing audio and video stuff (at uni).

In February, I finally got over someone I held on to for way too long.

I bought lots of cool clothes.

I started writing down and publishing my thoughts.

So for the positivity thing, this is gonna start out rocky but hear me out. 2017 was the yr my life fell apart. My mental health hit an all time low, I had to be hospitalized. My marriage fell apart & I had to move across the country from everyone I knew & loved to start over & get back on my feet. & it was hard, harder than even in my lowest moments I could have anticipated. BUT!

Being hospitalized led to getting on medication for my depression & gave me invaluable resources as far as coping skills & knowing that it’s okay to need help as well as recognizing when it’s time to reach out so I don’t hit that low again.

Leaving my marriage ended up being a massive positive for personal growth. Of course it hurt & it still does. But we had outgrown each other long ago & our relationship was no longer healthy. We were both desperately clinging to something dead & it was time for change.

Moving led to me getting my dream job, making tons of supportive wonderful friends & spending more time with my brother, as well as meeting someone who loves me dearly for who I am now & who I’m striving to become.

Sometimes when things look bad & everything has fallen apart, it’s because your life was wrong & it’s time for things to change. Every day & every situation is a chance for you to do & make something new & wonderful happen in your life if you stick around & keep fighting thru the bullshit long enough to see the beautiful outcome!
