Saw somebody complaining that FGO just slaps some Lovecraftian window dressing on some random asian characters instead of being true to HP Lovecraft’s writing.
And like, Fate plays fast and loose with that sort of stuff to begin with, but gee, I wonder why a bunch of Japanese Artists wouldn’t feel inclined treat the writings of an American Bigot Xenophobe as if they’re the bible? It’s not like those writings had anything especially heinous to say about them, their people, or their entire way of life, did they?
