I love when Aang’s fighting the earth general or w/e and the general says “you can’t run forever!” and Aang responds “you can’t fight forever!” because it encapsulates so much about Aang! He doesn’t want to fight. He wants everyone to get along, and if he can’t just talk it out, he wants you to run yourself into the ground, to tire yourself out chasing a kid with an air scooter and a whole bunch of tricks up his sleeve, all so he doesn’t have to hurt you. It’s a testament to the fact that at the end of the day, he’s a good kid who is so intent to do no harm! But it’s a double edged sword—he’ll run from anything. He dodges responsibility and confrontation again and again and it always, always catches up to him, and it often comes at a cost to those around him. And I just loooove that one of his greatest strengths is also one of his greatest weaknesses, that’s good writing, babyyyy
