why is it that i’m always there for you, but you’re never there for me?

i’m getting tired of telling the same sob story.

i know you go through stuff and you can’t always be there for me. but damn, what about what i’m going through?

i would have all the grace in the world for what you’re doing through. i never judge you for canceling or altering our plans. i always come to you when we hang out, and all im asking is that you text me and check on me if im going through something. or at least respond when i text you.

you always conveniently pop up after the storm is over, but you can never stand the rain.

that hurts a lot coming from someone who’s called themselves my best friend for the last 10 years. i have asked so little of you — really, nothing at all. but a common courtesy for someone you love would be to check on them if they’re going through something. to care about them if they might be in the most difficult battle of their lives.

it’s whatever though. if you want to be a shitty friend i can do that too. but it hurts me a lot because that’s not in my nature

and i don’t want to do that to you. i want us to have a healthy relationship where we reciprocally check on each other. but im holding people accountable for their actions these days, not their intentions. and yours don’t give me confidence that im supported in this relationship.

it especially hurts my feelings that you can still go out with “our” other friends without me and not check on me or invite me.

like am i asking too much? because it feels like the bare minimum. i’m just asking you to consider me.
