Three of my absolute faves are among the top 10 longest fics. And two of them are wips, meaning that they’re only going to grow longer.

They also all fundamentally changed how I viewed dynamics from canon.

Bad With Romance by anonymous changed my relationship with the ship Plotja. I also appreciated how it hinted at potential issues of kimcom & KDJ. I think it served as a brilliant what-if retelling where SP was the pov protagonist and was for once given the chance to be the “lucky one”.)

Surely It Was Fate, also by anonymous, explored the dynamic between 0 and 51. I didn’t expect to enjoy this dynamic to this extent, but I do enjoy it. I like YJH pov fics and this one specifically has the 0 round flavor it’s so good. 51 has all his canonical issues and at the same time is very very powerful. He really is giving 0 his everything. Yet it’s so clear that 0 is denied the access to 51 in all the ways that matters because reasons. Back in canon, I mostly viewed 051 as a version of the YJH and KDJ we were the most familiar with. But after 10 chapters of this fic (which has 105 chapters in total) I now feel 051 as so uniquely, individually themselves (not just future KDJ and past YJH… yk) From now on I will have to call this dynamic 051 because they need to be highlighted as their own and deserve my undivided attention equally just as the main ship!

Among the three of them, I read Reasons To Live by twi_v the earliest. It convinced me to try longer and wip works because how brilliant it was. I am desperately in need of a reread and catchup on the updated YJH pov chapters. It definitely enriched my reading of KDJ’s many questionable life choices. Also YJH’s suffering because of that. Poor guy. (It warmed and broke my heart simultaneously how he bravely reached out to form meaningful connections and every single one of them were with KDJ without YJH knowing it…)
