Hermits will sometimes dream of their bodies falling apart for weeks after using the mod. Cleo doesn’t touch it, because it exacerbates her pre existing issues.

They dream of their wings being crushed, and their ears being pulled, and their claws being ripped away, and it feels painfully real.

But it only happens sometimes. Xisuma doesn’t like the mod, but hermits asked to keep it. They like the option.

they ripped their wings after crashing into a tree when they started suffering from hypothermia and was forced to withstand the cold in the tree. they were lucky that there was an abandoned treehouse they could hide in. their second set of arms, however, stopped working well when spring came

she found out they were too weak to work and never recovered from the hypothermia. she is able to use them for smaller or lighter things but are useless outside of that. at some point, she realised that she was probably screwed even if she was alive and huddled in a dying public server where no one bothered her. xisuma shortly got a message from his nearby server tracker and on his way back from picking up tango, they went to go find hypno. she was unconscious when they brought her on the server

now hypno likes coming over to tango's house during the winters to curl up in his warmth and false, keralis and doc made him a custom elytra when they came out. they are a beautiful stained glass inspired rendition of wasp wings. hypno wears them all the time even at the start of seasons even if he isn't allowed to use them until everyone has access to wings

(this hc being the exact opposite of the theme this month is slightly giggle worthy to me lol)
