The past few weeks had felt like hell.

Audrey had done everything in her power to distract herself from the voice in her head. For once, Audrey hadn’t minded having exams, throwing herself into them, burying herself in revision rather than her thoughts. However, now that they were over and Summer was here she had finished exams it seemed her problems were finally here to confront her. The problems being Miles. Well, not Miles --- Miles was perfect in Audrey’s eyes. More the fact that Miles had said that he had loved her and she hadn’t said it back. It wasn’t that she didn’t love him, because she did. She really did. Everytime she was around him it felt like she was flying, he made her the happiest she had ever felt in the nineteen years she had spent on this earth, and she wanted to tell him. However, something had always seemed to come between them whenever she had tried to. Whether it was Miles’ job or her parents, something had always seemed to stop her. After the ball, she had wanted to tell him straight away, but, declaring your love for someone - especially for the first time - wasn’t something that Audrey just wanted to blurt out like she wanted to make up for what had happened. Especially if that’s what it would feel like to Miles. So, instead of trying to fix the problem Audrey had let it consume her so all she could think about while lying on her bed was Miles. Grunting, she stood up --- she needed some fresh air.

As Audrey headed out her house via her bedroom window, she beelined straight for the cliff. It was her thinking space. She liked listening to the waves crashing below her, the sea breeze tickling her face. It relaxed hair. Debatably, it had been a place where she and Miles had spent a lot of their time, but she just really needed some alone time to wallow in self pity without the only noise being her own thoughts. 

It wasn’t a long walk from Audrey’s house to one of her favourite spots and it had been quite pleasant being Summer weather and all. She tucked her hands into the light jacket she had on, climbing up the small hill you needed to conquor to reach the top. However, as she reached the top she was dismayed to find someone already sitting there. She debating turning around, but it took her a couple seconds to realise who it was. “... Miles?”
