Psyduck has constant headaches that can get so painful it causes the Pokemon to cry, and if its headache peaks it may begin to use its psychic powers, which lessens the headache for a while by doing so.

Psyduck can never remember how to use its powers nor when it has used them, as when it does use its powers, it goes into an altered state where it cannot form memories.

Psyduck can only use its psychic powers when its brain cells start to awaken, which stimulates a headache and thus its powers, and it has been found that Psyduck's brain cells are 10 times more active during a headache.

While using its powers, Psyduck generates brain waves found only in sleepers, which has led to controversy about this Pokemon among scholars.

Alright, much shorter one today. Despite being elevated to mascot status thanks to the anime, and being Masuda’s favourite Pokemon, and being available in one form or another in every single main series release besides pre-DLC SwSh, Psyduck has never received any alternate forms. No Mega, no regional variant, no G-max, it’s just the same thing from the word go.

Psyduck is a Pokemon I love for its character, but I’m less wild about in terms of its in-game capabilities. Golduck is just sort of there. Also, I still find it weird that the Gold Duck is called Psyduck, and the Psychic Duck is called Golduck. Yeah they’re both psychic but Golduck actually has control of its powers.

We’ll start with Psyduck itself.

Okay, this is a good start. One benefit Psyduck has from its mascot-status being more... lowkey, is that Psyduck’s shiny actually has a colour variation! Nothing lame like Pikachu or Jigglypuff. Nothing very minor like Meowth or Clefairy. Psyduck’s shiny is a nice shade of teal-blue, and I would absolutely take it if I found one. At the same time, though, Psyduck’s default colours are still iconic, and thus I’ll declare this one a draw!

Now, let’s cover the second form, Golduck!

Aaaaand you beefed it. The skin barely changes and the pink beak and webbing look awful. It looks like sunburned skin. Default wins.

marx told him if he drinks enough soda he’ll turn into a rocket ship, but meta knight wouldn’t let him get more than this. (marx is probably a liar anyway.)
