Ivy grew up learning how to hide. Her brother’s magic is forbidden, and she has learned to keep her head down and her knives sharp. Steel-eyed and sharp-tongued, she doesn’t let anyone in, except her brother. When the crown prince stumbles into their clinic one late night, bleeding to death, Ivy is thrust into a world she’s only heard whispers of. The Faith wants her dead. The rebellion needs her blade. Brought back from the brink, he now walks an uneasy line between life and death. There is fear and doubt where once there was unwavering certainty. He doesn’t know where he stands: with the siblings who risked everything for him or with the crown, even as it reveals itself as something Alaric barely recognizes.
