Honestly I think my most controversial take would never be anything about Stan and gender or whatever, it'd probably be "Jimmy is a conservative." but not in the bible thumping, Reagan ass voting way where he tries to control Stan, but he for sure voted for Eisenhower whilst at the same time was definitely like "Told you so, man like that's got no class." when Nixon got busted for Watergate. He's not a party loyalty guy, just a "This guy's got character, this guy's got standards." kinda man.
Just he seems like an old school sort of person and if we're being honest, Stan would never be some left wing/liberal fantasy perfect guy either, since he grew up in the 60s (as nice as it would be to imagine) honestly I think that's why I love them together, Jimmy was always gonna be stuck in the gender binaries because he's so fucking ancient and Stan meets him in the middle like "You wanna call me your girl? bet, pot roast will be ready at 5."
I like them messy, I like them not being perfect and I like them meeting each other where they're at. Honestly the biggest appeal to me about the ship is that it would force an otherwise probable misogynistic, homophobic, bible thumping guy to reflect on himself because he finds himself at odds with this little menace who doesn't fit neatly into any box and it becomes a really sweet message that anyone can change their minds when presented with new evidence and that evidence just happens to be a short ass goblin with a mullet and a miniskirt.
