It's a good thing, Eedy thinks as her heels clack across her Coruscant apartment back to the kitchen, that Syril is gone, that wretch. He would find a way to ruin this like he ruins nearly everything — and there will be nothing to come between her and a special evening with a distinguished guest.

She certainly won't let her son ruin it with just the thought of him.

So she pushes every last speck of him out of her mind, humming contentedly to herself as she rifles through the offerings in the cooling chamber and the conservator. She has frozen nerfburger meat, but that doesn't seem very distinguished, now does it? Her special guest can have the finest nerfburger anytime he wants. That won't make this a special evening.

Her attention turns, then, to the pantry, to a pink box of crunchies on the shelf.

Yes, she thinks, that's the answer.

There's barely enough time to grab two bowls and dole out the portions before the secret code sounds on her comlink. When you're seeing someone important, there's a code, there's special security, and a whole host of things that no ordinarily civilian would see. It makes Eedy Karn the most important person in the galaxy, and she likes it that way.

And then there's a knock, only one; Eedy immediately strides for the door, her best smile fixed in place.

"Good evening, Your Excellency."

The hooded figure standing in her threshold makes a waving motion with his hand to dismiss the troopers behind him. It's then, and only then, that he steps forward and takes her into his arms, lowering his hood and kissing her passionately.
