‘Still With You’ JIKOOK song
This is my theory to why I think it’s a Jikook song. I don’t wanna hear anything negative at all, period. I will also dive into doing some analysis of the lyrics. Please know that this is all personal interpretation. I know Jungkook said it’s a song for ARMY. Anyway, If u think it’s nonsense just move on from the this post. Also English is not my first language so it might not be as structured. 🙃
I have been listening to ‘Still with you’ on repeat nowadays and it got me thinking about the Jikook Rain fight and other things. Remember how the members looked confused about it when Jungkook brought it up in 2020 Festa. They were probably shooting that around April or May. It got released in June.
Still with you was released in 2020 early June. Composed and self written by Jungkook himself. ‘In the Soop 2020’ he was seen discussing on the car with Namjoon about the moon line so he was actively working on it, maybe from April to June. Bear in mind, even Jimin forgot about the fight when Jungkook first brought it up. He said it was something he felt sorry about. I believe he spoke about it because that memory for him was still fresh. why? because he was either working on the song or had already made the song remembering the rain fight. That is the reason to why I think it is a Jikook song, everything just links and clicks. Although, we don't know what they actually fought about.
The rainy day fight was probably around 2015/2016 so HYYH or Wings era I am guessing since Jimin was 20/21 and Jungkook was 18/19. The year every Jikooker knows to be the time there was shift in their relationship.

In the beginning there is a 2 sec raindrops falling sound without the vocals, setting the rainy day scene. Jungkook himself said to Jimin "Did I tell you? the day it rained?" in Festa. This shows he remembers that fight because of the weather. Being in that situation made him sad and the rainy weather probably made the emotions he felt that time even more worse. Hence, him labeling it as the fight that happened when it "rained".
When he sings this whole part the vocals sounds distant. Okay. Call me delulu but it’s giving phone call vibes. His vocals here sound like it's coming from a phone because it sounds a little fuzzy. I suggest you guys to use both earphones and listen to that first bit of the song and you will know what I mean. This phone effect basically sets the scene of a phone call between them.
Faint voice that brushes past me - Jimin saying “I am not going to care about you anymore, do whatever you want” the last thing that Jungkook heard before Jimin walked out. Jimin himself said he was really angry that time and spoke harshly, meaning he likely either shouted or his tone was quite sharp. This can suggest that, hearing those words from Jimin turned repetitive in Jungkook's head, to the point Jimin's voice echoed in his ear and turned faint.
The voice is faint but the voice brushing past him highlights a juxtaposition between absence and presence. It shows that although the voice is distant and it's barely there, it brushes past him showing physical and tangible impact. What is unseen is felt to point it is seen. I think this is significant because it shows us the emotional and physical impact those words had on him.
Please call my name just one more time - Let me set the scene. Jungkook was calling Jimin multiple times on the phone. Jimin in Festa said he told Jungkook "ya! didn't I tell you not to call me" when he picked up. But I think there was actually a previous call from Jungkook that Jimin picked up and he said something. Hanged up. THEN picked up another call and THEN said that line.
The connotation of the word name in this lyrics implies familiarity, intimacy and continuity. Jungkook wanted Jimin to say his name when he picked up. He wanted to hear his name so that he can feel like he exists in Jimin's life, and that he is not a stranger to Jimin. Since Jimin did say “I am not going to care about you anymore, do whatever you want" during the fight and walked off. Saying his name enables him to think that the relationship hasn't ended just yet, like if you say my name then it would feel familiar, like I am back in a time when everything was fine. When we were normal and together. Like we are not strangers to each other. Like I still exist in your life. That's why his inner monologue begs to hear his name just one more time, just enough to soothe the rejection, panic and the sadness, just enough to suspend the feeling of the relationship ending. For him, his name being called out acts like an anchor to hold on to Jimin.
My translation since the subs didn't show fully what was actually being said “I am not going to care about you anymore, do whatever you want" but anyway I found someone's comment under it, have a look guys.
This makes sense to me because the members had no clue about it. But I dunno about Tae and Hobi because they looked sus, I felt like they knew. The rest were just cringing. I think whatever happened between Jikook was very personal to the point that they hid it from the rest. Plus, we know how the boys are, they tend to sort it out as a team whenever they fight.
The rest even said "that's something a couple would do".
Though I’m standing under the frozen sunset - When I think of the word 'sun', I think bright, warm, passion and basically it being high up in the sky. After what Jimin said, the sun which symbolises their relationship, started to set.

The relationship described as a sunset can suggest that, at that time, Jungkook felt like their relationship ending was inevitable. To him, this reflects the idea that everything that begins must have an ending, just like how the sun must inevitably set. Also, the oxymoronic phrase frozen sunset further suggests that the relationship that was warm like the sun has now turned cold and icy.
Jungkook standing under the frozen sunset shows his awarness of the inevitable but he remains stubborn and unwilling of the sun to actually set. Hence, freezing the sunset and not letting time move forward.
I will walk towards you, one step at a time
Still with you - After freezing the scene of the sunset and knowing love has an inevitable end, he is still refusing to emotionally give up; despite his pride and hurt, he still wants to walk towards Jimin even if it takes him one step at a time. This can mean he wants to defy inevitablness just to hold on to Jimin and their relationship.
I think we have all noticed Jikook loves to talk about sky, moon, stars, sun, sunsets. They are not called sun and moon duo by K-army for no reason.
