Danny seeing Constantine's soul ripped into hundreds of pieces as an attempt to keep any one demon from owning it says the first thing that comes to his fourteen year old mind
"Whore"
Constantine was thinking there has to be something to bargain with, the rumors of the new Ghost King are that he is of a more benevolent sort, only to just be murdered on the spot
"I guess there's a plan for all of us. I had to die...twice...just to figure that out. Like the book says, he works his work in mysterious ways. Some people like it...some people don't."
The Hellblazer

Tell me this isn’t about the girl. Definitely, mostly not about the girl.
Rachel Weisz & Keanu Reeves Constantine (2005), directed by Francis Lawrence
DP x DC Prompt: “Superman Already Knew Him??”
Okay but LISTEN— Do you guys ever think about how Clark absolutely knew Danny back when he first started hero-ing?
Like Danny floating around Amity Park at 3am, blasting some random lunch lady ghost through the sky, and Clark—who hears EVERYTHING—just pauses mid-patrol like:
“…why is there a tiny, panicked teenager breaking every FAA regulation known to man?”
And because Danny didn’t register on any government system, NOR did he know how to fly properly, NOR did he ever shut up mentally, Clark just—kept tabs on him like a concerned neighborhood dad.
He even tried warning him once:
Superman: “You’re not licensed to fly.” Danny: “Dude, I’m not licensed to LIVE.” Superman: “…okay we’ll work on that.”
Fast forward YEARS later— Danny’s now the King of the Infinite Realms and the Justice League is having a Big Important Diplomacy Meeting™.
Constantine: clapping hands together “Alright you muppets, Eyes Forward. Behave. No one insult the Ghost King, no one stare too long at the glowing aura—just don’t be a donkey, yeah?”
Doors open. Danny floats in, crowned, cloaked, full ghost monarch aesthetic.
Everyone sits straighter.
…except Clark.
Clark’s entire face lights up like a golden retriever seeing its favorite person:
Clark: “LITTLE D!! Where’ve you been, bud? You missed Ma’s brunch last Sunday! She made cinnamon rolls!”
Danny, King of Infinity, Eldritch Monarch of all Realms: “Oh crap—sorry dude, Clockwork kidnapped me for a test. Again.”
Constantine, horrified: “CLARK. WHY. Why are you greeting the King of the ACTUAL INFINITE REALMS like he’s your GROCERY-STORE NEIGHBOR?!”
Clark: “He is my neighbor. I’ve known him since he was twelve and committing accidental airspace crimes.”
Batman, whispering sharply: “Clark. Diplomacy. Respect. Dignity.”
Constantine: “YES. Thank you. Someone gets it.”
Danny, floating upside down: “Bats, I watched you eat cheese sticks at 2am on a rooftop. Don’t act formal with me.”
Batman, dying internally.
Superman, smug.
Constantine, spiritually exhausted. Again.
