I decided to make a collaborative alterhuman playlist on Spotify. You can add whatever media (music, podcast episodes, books, etc) to the playlist that is alterhuman related (or that you interpret as alterhuman related).

This is less of a playlist you would put on to just listen to, but rather a place to find condensed alterhuman auditory media! Kind of like an archive or resources page.

If you want something added anonymously, dm me! You can also dm me if you want something taken off of the playlist.

I don't really give a damn about what y'all put on the playlist, but there are a few rules (these rules are vague for a reason):

ZERO AI.

DON'T DELETE OTHERS' CONTENT.

Nothing hateful.

All languages, genres, and media types are allowed.

Try not to repeat media.

Only add stuff that is alterhuman related (See paragraph 1, but this is ultimately up to you and your own interpretation. I will not remove media because I don't get the connection.)

Could any doll alterhumans that see this tell me about how being a doll feels for you and how it affects you? And what kind of doll you are, if you're comfortable with sharing?

I know that many - young and old - are using the terms in below said ways. But this mostly is based on misinformation that's getting spread a lot. Please don't feel offended with this post. I don't want to start drama or the like. I just want to clear things up.

What kind of word is the term "kin"?

"Kin" is not a verb or an adjective, it's a noun. It's the short version of "otherkin". If you say "I do kin", you're saying it wrong. If you say:"Are you kin with?", you're still saying it wrong. Correctly it'd be:"I am an otherkin./I am a 'kin./Are you a 'kin?"

"Kinning" and "Kinnie"...

Furthermore, "kinning" and "kinnie" are two other wrong ways of using this word. Those two originally got brought into the community by trolls who understand therianthropes as "transspecies", therefore they combined "(other)kin" with the word "trannie" to form "kinnie".

And "kinning" is wrong because otherkinity isn't something you (choose) to do, but it's a state of being. If you want to say that you identify as a lion, then you don't say:"I'm kinning a lion." No, as an example you may say:"My (kin)type is a lion./I identify as a lion."

So there’s different kinds, mostly fictionkin and otherkin. There’s also therian, but I don’t know too much about that. If anyone wants to add on or if anyone has corrections please either rb or dm me or send an ask! I’m not the best at explaining things, I’ll add some links to other explanations but I’ll try my best ^^

Otherkin is where you identify as a non-human. This does not mean that anyone believes that they are literally this creature, ‘kin typically involves past-life or multiverse beliefs. For example, I believe in past lives and somewhat of a multiverse? Idk if that is confusing at all, I’ll add links below for more info. I am alienkin, with some memories and feelings that made me realize this (along with a lot of things throughout my entire life that actually caused me to discover all of this). 

EDIT: what I meant by “literally” is physical stuff.

Fictionkin is similar to otherkin, but with fiction (obviously). Again, people believe in past lives and the multiverse stuff. With these, people tend to get memories and stuff associated with this life and remember being this being in that life. When referring to memories, a lot of fictionkin use the term “canon” to describe how their timeline differed from the original source. For example, I’m Julian Devorak from The Arcana, and I remember much more than what was shown in the game.

There is also a term called factkin, but this is generally looked down upon in the community. These are people who identify as real people, past or present. 

Again, people who are any sort of ‘kin do not believe they are literally, completely this person/being in this life.
