inspired by my current interning at a museum i had a curiosity. i have seen a handful of ball jointed and porcelain doll otherkin over my years on tumblr and it made me wonder if there are other kinds of dolls too.

being a doll is so hard sometimes because you just don't feel anything. there's nothing you want to do, nothing you want to talk about. if you don't have a purpose then what is the point to any movement or activity? it just feels wasted and needless.

being driven to work, completely limp and motionless in the passenger seat. nodding in response to anything said, but otherwise entirely still. regaining feeling and purpose only once at work, snapping upright and putting on a smile and walking like it's natural for me. making conversation, responding to other people with practiced words. pretending to be human. collapsing once more after work, joints no longer able to hold my own weight. motionless and limp once again.

Wearing it makes me feel so creepy and haunting and something made in the form of an imitation of humanity. Comforting and haunted at the same time. Sitting on the shelf and kicking my lil porcelain legs contentedly
