Fëanorian Week 2023, Day 3: Celegorm (and a horse)
âIâm not going to give Maglor an instrumentâ I said, âit would be too fragileâ I said, and then I gave Celegorm a bow and arrows. So weâre going to say that at least the arrows are bronze rods painted to resemble stone.
Also Iâm pretty sure I havenât drawn a horse in upwards of a year, so...yeah. I apologize for the wonky structure and shading, especially on and behind the shoulders.
In your AU you talk about calling Common "Human" instead. Why is that? Also, wouldn't something like Stormwindian or Elwynnian make the most sense considering how other languages like Night Elf are Darnassian?
(Disclaimer: I am not a linguist.)
Short answer: I donât find the semi-colonial implications of a âcommon languageâ/lingua franca in any fantasy setting very fun to think about (at least when they're literally not explored at all). I also feel it cheapens interactions between characters from wildly different places. I understand why a âCommonâ must exist in video games and RPGs. Your players need to be able to communicate. But in the context of writing and even specific RP scenarios, I think excluding a true lingua franca allows for more creativity in inter-character interactions as they try to navigate that. It also gives more weight to multilingual characters being multilingual.
Long answer:
Regarding Under the Red Hood the film, most of it I get and the subtle details are all appreciatedâŠ.that said, what exactly was Joker doing with Jasonâs Robin boots before leaving him in that warehouse?
i had to rewatch the scene to see what you were talking about and. dear god you're right. jason's shoes aren't to be found anywhere in that whole scene what the fuck
i can't believe we thought the joker was evil simply for beating a teenage boy to the brink of death and then blasting him to pieces no he stole the boy's sHOESâ

Me trying to get people into my fandoms like
I'm so sorry, now that I've found this blog you're gonna be dealing with me quite a bit. Anyhoo I remembered you had one post that said Susie could probably carry Sammy bridal style for a minute or two, well for some reason I can see her doing so after Sammy's injured by a prank gone wrong or something because people show surprising amounts of strength when loved ones are in danger. (I did not mean for this ask to get this long)
((no problem my dude! that sounds hella adorable xD imagine: his leg gets messed up and he canât walk, so she offers to carry him and he immediately goes âno im fine, watch this.â and he tries to stand up only to immediately fall back over and she smirks and goes âwow yeah that was certainly something, you fell over! I am so impressedâ and she picks him up and carries him to the infirmary as he complains the entire time ; w ; smol carries tol, i am here for this.))
DAO gave all it's fancy frivolously cryptic dialogue to the Poet-tree.
Maybe thatâs why I prefer DA:O and DA:2âČs writing... Like, a lot of âregularâ fucking dialogue is cryptic to me lmao
