bruce's ending in bnd is such a perfect set up for a hulk movie which we'll probably never get because disney and universal suck ass but i will keep being delusionalâ
obviously, everybody who signs up for dr. banner's class whispers about the hulk. but these are also science nerdsâthis generation grew up with pictures of him in their high school science labs. half of his students fan over the hulk, but the other half fan over the legendary dr. banner.
still, syllabus week devolves into a hulk q&a.
don't worry, he accounted for that in his lesson plan.
by week three, joking about the hulk becomes cliche. the kids start coming for bruce's bad jokes.
bruce's rate-my-professor score is pretty inaccurate. 30% are hulk fanboys, 30% are avengers haters, and 30% are bots. but that slim 10% in the middle have helpful reviews. "tons of classroom discussion. don't do the readings, he says everything in the lectures. but for the love of god start your papers early, you're going to have to talk through the prompts in office hours. they're so niche."
he runs a background check on every one of his TAsâparanoid that they're trying to get close to him for nefarious reasons. in a few instances, he's been right. but for the most part, they're just bright, passionate nerds. bruce is a nervous mentor. his TAs would all die for him.
there's always one student who comes up to bruce during office hours quiet. nervous. asking advice about "a friend of theirs" who got powers. bruce always plays along. but then he slides them the number of a superpower support group. you know. for "their friend."
his classes always have a wait list.
(almost) none of his students believe he just "snapped." the rest of the student body, maybe. but not them.
in the mental hospital, when he gets the first "get well soon" cards from them, he cries.
"Did I... hurt someone?"

What If I Hurt You Again?
Summary: Bruce hulks out during a mission and you get hurt in the midst. He avoids you for weeks afterwards. [WC 1.2K] [Ao3]
Warnings: hurt/comfort, bruce is terrified, reader gets injured
Request: Hi! I'm here to request a Bruce Banner x reader fic where he gets mad during a fight, hulks out, and accidentally hurts the reader in his fit of rage. He feels terrible and tries to avoid the reader but the reader doesn't let him. Thank you!! @ anon
The fight was supposed to be controlled. Thatâs what theyâd said. Quick in, quick out. Contain the situation. Minimal damage. But plans like that never seemed to hold when things got messy not when voices got louder, when weapons got heavier, when fear started spreading through the air like smoke.
You saw it before anyone else did. The shift in him. âBruceââ you called, already moving toward him.
GENTLEMAN'S AGREEMENT
Steve Rogers x Male Reader
synopsis: You and Steve had been dating for a few months now, and you treated him like a king. Opening doors for him, keeping PDA to a minimum around others, watching your language around him. Anything and everything to not make Steve uncomfortable. However, is Steve really that innocent as people think he is? No.
You had rules. Not ones carved in stone, but worn into your bones over years of disciplined self-control.
Rule #1: Never push Steve Rogers.
Frozen, thawed, time-skipped, and then tossed headfirst into a world of smartphones and sex jokes on Twitter. You weren't about to be the reason he short-circuited. It was easy to keep your touches brief, your kisses chaste, and your compliments confined to respectable territory.
"You look sharp, Cap." you'd say, adjusting his collar with a practiced touch. Never hot. Never devastating. Never do-you-have-any-idea-what-you-do-to-me? Because that would break:
Rule #2: Don't let Steve know you're constantly on the verge of losing your goddamn mind over him.
So yes, your relationship was filled with old-school charm: opening doors, polite forehead kisses, sleeping with a gap between your bodies like it was the 1940s and touching too much would summon divine punishment.
You thought you were protecting him. You thought he needed it.
He proved you wrong on a Thursday night.
