child of the goddess hecate

hecate is the titan goddess of magic, witchcraft, the mist, and crossroads. she was often depicted holding two torches or a key. she was also closely associated to the spiritual world, ghosts, and the dead. a shrine to hecate was placed at the entrances of homes or even cities, hoping to protect them from the evil spirits that roamed the world.  

“I am responsible for keeping the veil that separates the world of the gods from the world of mortals.”

mist control: the ability to manipulate visual illusions.

child of the god zeus

zeus is the god of the sky, thunder, lightning, kingship, honor, and justice. one of the original twelve olympians. he is portrayed with a scepter in one hand and a thunderbolt in the other – both symbols of his authority. sometimes he wears a crown of oak leaves – the oak was deemed to be his sacred tree. considered the ruler of heavens and the governor of weather, zeus was also associated with wisdom and awareness, with authority and destiny, with battles and power.   

“zeus was the god of law and order. the guy who threw random lightning bolts when he got angry and couldn't keep his own wedding vows—this was the guy in charge of making sure kings acted wisely, councils of elders were respected, oaths were kept, and strangers were given hospitality.”

child of the goddess persephone

persephone is the goddess of springtime, vegetation, grain, and the underworld. she is seen as the protector of the afterlife. hades, god of the underworld, fell in love with beautiful persephone when he saw her picking flowers one day in a meadow. the god then carried her off in his chariot to live with him in the dark underworld.    

“you can't go around incinerating every hero. besides, he's brave. I like that.”

necromancy: communication and sway over those who have passed.

child of the goddess aphrodite

aphrodite is the goddess of beauty, love, desire, passion, sexuality, pleasure, and fertility. portrayed as both insatiable and unattainable, aphrodite was born near the coast of cythera out of the foam uranus' castrated genitals created when they fell into the sea.

“I've met aphrodite, goddess of love, in person, and her powers had scared me worse than ares.”

shapeshifting: change her appearance depending on the perception of the beauty of the person she is in the presence of.

hestia is the goddess of the hearth, home and family. one of the original twelve olympians. cronus’ and rhea’s first-born child, she was pure and peaceful. however, since she always had to stay at home, tending the fireplace, hestia is not involved in many myths.  

“I am here because when all else fails, when all the other mighty gods have gone off to war, I am all that's left. home. hearth.”

eris is the goddess of chaos, strife and discord. eris played an important role in the events that eventually led to the trojan war. all of the olympians had been invited to the wedding of peleus and thetis, who would become the parents of achilles; however, eris was not invited, due to her inclination to cause discord. as a means of revenge, eris dropped the golden apple of discord into the party, which had the words To The Fairest One inscribed on it. hera, athena and aphrodite started quarreling over who the apple should be given to, so zeus appointed paris, prince of troy, as the person to solve the dispute. the goddesses offered paris various gifts, but he eventually picked aphrodite, who promised him the most beautiful woman in the world; helen, wife of menelaus, king of sparta. eris has shining eyes and a smile like of a serial killer. she wears a black toga. eris appears as a slender woman with pale skin, long, straight hair and blood-red lips. she wears a black dress.
