what she says: i’m fine.  what she means: i am constantly emotional about inara cousland always wanting to be a mother and having that option stolen from her by the taint in her blood that’s slowly destroying her body’s natural functions and will eventually take away her ability to have children herself, a fact which obviously no one warned her about because the joining is itself a huge secret and no one really pays attention to the way it affects the body apart from being a 30 year death sentence, and then in addition to that she discovers the darkspawn turn living elven, dwarven, qunari, and human women into broodmothers, which is probably the second most traumatizing experience she has during the blight after the loss of her entire house and (almost) her entire family. 

you know what would have just really pounded the nail in my coffin? is if the next time we saw smellerbee, she was carrying two hooked swords, and that was the confirmation
