Sooyoung fails to notice the other waking up at first, causing her to poke once more, until Taeyeon manages to sit up just a little. Her expression moves into a sleepy smile and she just quietly shakes her head at Taeyeons first words. “I..” she shrugs, “I couldn’t sleep well, really… So I figured I’d stop trying and just live on caffeine for a day. That’s the best way to overcome a jetlag, right?”
Her voice is soft and her hands reach up to rub at her eyes, a vain attempt to rub the sleep out of them. Taeyeon gets up from the bed and Sooyoung sits there for a few more moments until she finally manages to lift herself from the bed as well, making sure to gather the top layer of Taeyeons blankets to drag along with her. It’s winter after all, and her pyjama shorts are not strong against the cold. Of course, she’s incredibly tired too, and that contributes to the cold she’s feeling, even if she’ll try her best to deny it.
She shuffles into the kitchen, takes a seat and wraps the blanket more tightly around herself before clumsily trying to free her arms from the contraption she’s engulfed herself with. She eventually manages to escape, sheepishly smiling at the leader. Fingers curl around the mug she’s prepared for herself, she’s glad the time the mugs had been out hasn’t turned them cold, but more of a lukewarm, the temperature she likes to drink her tea at. She sips the drink, places it on the table again, but leaves her fingers wrapped around it as Taeyeons words catch her off guard, she’s been zoning out a bit and only hears the last part.
“Oh, sure… I’ll have some,” she replies, completely unsure what she’s just said yes to. She imagines it’s food, and even if she’s anything but hungry, she knows Taeyeon is going to question her antics if she were to decline.
She turns around on the chair, facing Taeyeon after blinking a few times to keep her eyes open. “Just, don’t make me too much, ‘kay? I’m still on flight-mode.” It’s a joke, it’s ridiculous, but it’s accurate as to how she feels, even if it makes no sense. It’s not like she feels like she’s making sense, anyway. “I don’t think I can eat very much right now.” It’s a gamble, if Taeyeon’s not actually talking about food, it’ll be revealed that she wasn’t paying attention, and even though she knows Taeyeon would understand, she’d rather not be figured out at all.
“Please don’t tell me you have lots of plans for today to celebrate my return, though… I just want to stay in and… I don’t know,” she sighs a bit, taking another sip of her overly sweet tea.
A shake of her head is the only thing she gives in response to Sooyoung’s remark. No, it isn’t, but she won’t say it out loud. Instead, she just continues on her way to pull out bread for the toast. As she waits for the bread in the toaster, Taeyeon turns to the counter where the tea that was made for her sits and she takes a few sips. Looking at the sleepy girl in front of her has her snickering.
" You’re very obviously out of it. You should’ve attempted to sleep some more. You definitely need and deserve it. " It’s not so much a suggestion as it is a simple conclusion of word. " It’s toast by the way. I made you toast. Two pieces should be fine, right? " The toaster makes its notion of finishing by the sound of the toast popping out; startled, Taeyeon jumps and turns around to get some plates.
She’s quiet for a bit as she gets out everything that she and Sooyoung would want to put on the toasted bread - pulling out jelly and butter. It’s only when she has everything out and ready to fix up in front of her fellow member that she speaks up again.
" I don’t have too many schedules. But, they aren’t until later. We can just hang out here until then. " She’s not looking up at all as she pushes the plate of toast over to Sooyoung before putting butter on her own. This seems almost like a normal day, though its actually not. Sooyoung has her own place and it’s not even often that the girls can spend time together anymore. Schedule conflicts.
After finishing putting butter and jelly on her toast, she leans an elbow on the counter, taking a bite of it happily and giving a small wiggle of her shoulders. She didn’t get to eat much yesterday so even just toast had her feeling more energized and ready for schedules. Taking another sip of her tea, she looks over at Sooyoung, " Wanna watch a movie until I have to go, then? "
