ㅤꨄ︎ I can definitely see Sailor keeping the same name! It's pretty neutral and the process of legally changing it is just confusing to her. Besides, it's kind of like that really pretty girl in that one cartoon. What was her name? Sailor Moon? Okay maybe she'll change her middle name to Moon... No, that'd be too much. Either way, she likes Sailor! There's no need to change it.

ㅤꨄ︎ Sandbag was probably the first person she came out to. Not even on purpose, she hadn't realized that everyone didn't feel like clawing their way out of their skin to finally get away from the torment being a different gender than the one they were born with. It probably went over with Sailor addressing it casually. Something to the effect of

"Yeah, you know when you're feelin' like your body is all wrong? Like y'er meant to be in the sea, but you're stuck on land?"

"Not... really? What are you getting at?"

"Like your body just isn't what it's supposed to be?"

"Like how it looks?"

"Like how it feels! You know, like when you wish you could be a clownfish!"

"When you wish you... What?"

"So you could turn into a girl!"

"...Sailor."

ㅤꨄ︎ The first time she ever thought of it was actually when she was much younger. She was around twelve, studying ribbon eels when she discovered that the males eventually transition into females over time. Their colors get brighter and prettier... It seemed to her that they were happier then. That's when she started wondering if maybe she could be like that. Being a girl sounded so nice... Would she be happier then? Prettier? More colorful?

ꨄ︎ On that same note, when she first brought it up to her grandfather, it... didn't go quite so well. He had scowled and told her it was unnatural. She tried to explain that it was natural. Because the clownfish and ribbon eels did it, and they were natural! He... didn't take it so well. Sailor still remembers the way her face stung after that. It hurt for a week.

even though i am going to say that Elise lives until the bitter end, if they DO die, then i hope it's cuz of the whole "getting away with it" thing

what im talking about is: when you confront elise about its crime, you can understand that they pretty much got away with everything they did (not only through confronting him but. dont care). so they just kept pushing it, either to see how much they can get away with or just seeking that feeling again. he talked about how he barely remembers half of it, but talks plenty about how much "fun" it had and how they'd do it again as well.

ohh my god how did i forget to mention

if elise dies it BETTER be fun. they must die in a fun way. please

Okay, but Co-Worker basically gifting Protag his lighter in the "ESCAPE" ending before he gets off the elevator is so important to me.

Co-Worker, who's been consistently shown as selfish and materialistic. He drops brand names left and right just to brag that he can afford them, makes a fuzz about getting his clothes dirty, won't share something as minimal as his lighter or his shoe even when it could save his and Protag's life because those are expensive and those are his and why should he give them to you just like that?

But in this one ending, when Protag is visibly sad and anxious about losing the only familiar face in this messed up company and being left alone in the same elevator that has caused him massive amounts of trauma, Co-Worker just... lets him have the lighter. No big deal, he can always give it back during their break. Confirming that they'll see each other again, confirming that Protag won't be alone from here on out.

Co-Worker assuring Protag he has nothing to worry about while he's there. Protag not even considering sacrifcing Co-Worker to the hole on Floor 2. Co-Worker calming Protag down after noticing that seeing the door to his old place on Floor 4 unnerves him. Protagonist asking Co-Worker if he's okay and telling him to stay safe after the STRANGER DANGER ending. Co-Worker giving Protag hints whenever he gets stuck. Protag being devastated by the possibility that Co-Worker might not have been real this entire time. Co-Worker being horrified when Protag is killed on Floor 7. Their last interaction on Floor 9 with Protag being sad that Co-Worker won't be coming with him and Co-Worker allowing him to keep his expensive and cherished lighter and implicitly saying they'll be seeing each other again.
