System Term Storage

So we started rebuilding the document by adding what we can remember from the original. However! We don't want to lose it all again, so we figured we'd also put our terms here as a backup.

These terms were partly made for our system record keeping, partly for our personal greater understanding of ourselves, and partly because we sometimes saw a particular term was "missing" and so we created it ourselves.

Feel free to use (or to request!) these terms. We don't care. If one of our terms is helpful for you, use it.

We reserve the right to deny requests for any reason.

We have no DNI. Anyone may come and use these terms regardless of syscource stance. Just don't start drama.

A system member who works to dismantle unhealthy behaviors and habits, usually by subtle means though this is not a requirement.

This can refer to basically anything, from unhealthy coping mechanisms to helping the system leave an unhealthy relationship.

The sisasystem which is actively in front.

When two sisasystems are fronting simultaneously in a sort of constellation front, the focus is divided between the two.

When a particular sisasystem is in focus, it's usually easier for members of that sisasytem to front, and harder for other members not a part of that sisasystem.

We began making these terms after encountering the ones created by @/doelike, @/closedcaskets, and @/fabledlands. We later discovered that some of the terms we created are similar to ones made by @/systemtermz and @/syskid-terms-archive, which is entirely coincidental. Some use the same animal/name for the same trauma, so we're not sure if we should put those ones on here or not, because while we do describe things differently or include or exclude things from our terms, some of them can essentially be considered the same term.

So I guess this update is also a sort of public opinion poll!

- Lilac(they/them)

A headmate who steals memories or the emotional impact of them from another headmate. These memories are often trauma memories that heavily affect the one they are stolen from. When these memories (or the emotional impact) is stolen, the memory thief takes it on for themself, blocking the one who was previously remembering or experiencing it to suddenly not remember the memory or to feel nothing when they think of that memory. This may be permanent or temporary.

This term may be considered related to both gatekeeper and memory holder.

A headmate who is constantly working on completing tasks while in front, whether cleaning, organizing, doing laundry, scheduling appointments, etc. or finishing books, drawing, finishing or accepting requests to make craft or art projects, relaxing, etc.

Everything feels like a task to be done, but not in a boring sort or “I have to do this ugh” kind of way; rather, they see everything as an opportunity to accomplish something and feel energized and the only way to channel that energy is frame everything as a task to be done.

They may feel that it’s impossible to not be doing a task and may end up wearing themself out by trying to do too much all at once, which is why it’s necessary for them to frame relaxing and taking breaks as tasks.

This is not necessarily a role, though it can be.

When a sisasystem(link) has its own sisasystem, for example a subsystem having its own subsystem. While it could be used to refer to differing system types (such as a sidesystem having a subsystem), it was meant to refer to the same type of system (a sidesystem having a sidesystem). This inception has no limit and as long as a sisasystem has a sisasystem, this term may be used.

A headmate who either enjoys or is easily front triggered by arguments or debates related to politics, religion, philosophy, basically anything; or, one who specifically fronts to handle these situations or to have these debates/arguments.

They may enjoy purposefully bringing these topics up to spark these debates, or may just enjoy partaking in them when they come up. They may also enjoy causing drama between other people who they know are on opposing sides (by bringing up something related to the topic in the hopes that the others will fight about it).
