I think lots of people have internalized a violent and forceful view on identity, wellness, and personal goals.
What "violent and forceful view"? Well, imagine that, whenever you're doing something that's not good for you, there appears some person, slams a fist on the table, screams "stop that, you fucking dumb idiot!" and points you towards some kind of a better solution. It's not great, even if the person is objectively right in their evaluation of what you should be doing. I suppose a lot of you had relatives talk to you that way, growing up, and so did I.
And a lot of advice or inspiration I see passed online unfortunately resembles that. It can be about anything, from encouraging people to go on walks to HRT and leaving abusive partners. What stays the same is the degrading language, vague aura of threats, and command tone.
I know a lot of you talk that way to yourselves. I have a feeling it cannot be good long term, but I don't want to police how you behave towards yourselves. If it works, alright. I only want you to stop channeling it into our shared social space and expecting everyone else to interpret it as good advice and positivity.
But if you only participate in this culture because it feels like everyone else is doing that, and you don't see examples of bettering oneself other than at (metaphorical) gunpoint, know that it doesn't have to be that way, and you deserve respect and dignity even when you fail. We all do.
Important rules for the "age verification" era of the internet that we're living in:
1. Do not do age verification.
2. If you have to do age verification, cheat. Do not under any circumstances give them your real ID.
The tool presents users with a 3D model they can then manipulate to, the creator says, bypass Discord's age verification system.
Oh no I dropped my link, what a horrible thing! Sure hope this doesn't get reblogged until it reaches users from the UK and Brazil!
And remember to not make a second account just to test out what works best when verifying your identity
A reminder that we still dont support Age Verification bullshit.

I bet queerbaiting feels so good. it’s a shame I’ve already established myself as a lesbian who writes gay shit because I’m just imagining the high I would get from writing something where my audience has no expectation of anything more queer than the barest of crumbs, like the real top shelf queerbaity stuff, give them no faith that I’d ever follow through but also give them plenty of material to imagine, and then slap them in the face with the queerest faggiest ending they’ve ever seen. Make my straight fans look like absolute clown shoes. I think the rush I’d get from doing this would be so intensely addicting that it would briefly fix everything wrong with me but since this is a stunt you’d only ever be able to pull off once I would immediately go into cardiac arrest and die
hey. those go somewhere

i was today years old when i figured out this rather simple concept
Comic we made about our syscovery omg
More under the cut
lousy comic #2 abt video games impacting our development as a system and shit. idk man. this comic was drawn by 🐈, 💛, and 🪲.
strong content warnings for potentially distressing scenes, including depictions of (verbal/emotional) child abuse as well as dissociation, DPDR, & unreality under the cut.
if you don't mind me asking, what's y'all's internal communication like?
This one is also funny because I think our internal communication is yet another thing that differs from what I usually see other systems experiencing
The vast majority of the time we don't really "speak to" each other. It's more like we overhear each other's thoughts? Or the internal monologue briefly "slips in" to the thought process of someone other than the current fronter?
Like that one time the host was having a real bad time sitting on the floor 5 seconds away from crying, but their internal monologue was all "We have to remember that things are going to be okay! Life has ups and downs, bad days don't mean that (blah blah blah)" -- obviously the caretaker. caretaker thoughts. but it was not really the caretaker intentionally "speaking to" the host. the internal monologue kind of just turned into her thoughts.
We kind of view ourselves more as "mindsets" than like, individual separate people sharing a body. Reoccurring mindsets and patterns of thought and mannerisms who prefer different names and have different self expressions.
I guess it's because we don't have a headspace or individual coexisting streams of memory or anything. We obviously exist still when we're not fronting because we can communicate in our thoughts and stuff, but nobody has memories from the perspective of what it's like to be "in the back"/not fronting. Mindsets.
Sometimes we do speak to each other more intentionally, whether it's the fronter initiating conversation on purpose with someone "in the back" (to check in for whatever reason or coordinate a switch), or someone "in the back" speaking spontaneously on their own (caretaker likes to shout "I'M PROUD OF YOU" when anyone else does a self care task they were struggling with)
but we consider ourselves to exist as mindsets. the currently dominant one "in the front" controlling the decisions, sometimes one co-fronting and strongly influencing the internal monologue, ones "in the back" hanging out as thought processes that are mostly inactive until something relevant to them brings their thoughts or opinions back out.
I dunno. Kind of weird and hard to put into words. But that's how I view us
