Imagine if Trent was secretly slipping diesel oil into Richard's beers and Richard was slowly transforming into a human train and his body could no longer operate without train tracks so Trent quit Nine Inch Nails to start a new business called Trent's Train where he's the engineer and the passengers would randomly hear a strange groan that sounded like, "Help me," but Trent always assured that was just the locomotive settling. He never explained why the interior was sticky, wet and pulsated like flesh however.

going into the forest to play experimental industrial music at the lyrebirds so they learn how to make those sorts of noises and then showing the lyrebird noises to experimental industrial musicians so they learn how to mimic lyrebird mimicking them and then showing that to the lyrebirds and so on because well basically why not

pretty hate machine by nine inch nails. that's a great album, could be the "sound of the summer." why isn't anyone posting about this?
