Ok this is a bit random but I have a bit of a random tangentially g/t related dream I just had and I need to share it with y'all.
So I'm out shopping in some kind of mall, and I end up in one store, selling a bunch of clothing and stuff, and I'm looking around and I see this coat which looks perfect for a borrower cosplay I'm planning (this part is actually real not part of the dream, I'm really excited about it and I'll definitely share it on here if/when I finish it!) but like it's a big patchwork coat with massive buttons and pattens which make it look as if it's a borrower-sized overcoat (if I had any artistic skill whatsoever I'd try to draw it for y'all but alas) but anyway I run to grab it, I check the price and to my surprise it's only $1, as in literally a dollar. It is here that I realize everything in the store (most of which is like coats and hats with like a particular style, it's hard to describe but if I saw it in a photo I could point out to you) is super discounted for some reason. Anyways I'm going to check out and the person at the register is like "ooh are you planning on dressing up as one of those 'ore people' from Tolkien" and I'm like 'what are you taking about please tell me more', and I could feel like my brain was about to generate a wholeass fake LotR species to satisfy a random g/t conversation I was having IN A DREAM, but sadly that's when I woke up.
Sorry if this is hard to read or just plain uninteresting, I'm typing this in a half-awake frenzy at 2am, having started just moments after waking up from this dream. Also I think it's funny I had a semi-lucid dream and my brain went for g/t wish fulfillment in the most genie wish/monkeys paw way, like 'hmm yes you will find the perfect piece for your borrower costume for next to nothing, and someone is about to infodump to you about borrower-like creatures you've never heard of, and then you're just gonna wake up lmao sucks to suck'
Also yeah I looked it up and there is nothing like what the dream person was about to tell me about in the Tolkien canon, so sadly there's a reason is never heard about these so-called "ore people"
Ok so the dream coat was sort of like this:
But shorter and like, a bit rattier around the edges, if that makes sense? Like there were big fibers sticking out where two patterns met which made it look like it was made from really small pieces of fabric sewn together without being hemmed. Like, you could see how it would have worked for a borrower costume it looked like it was made from like 5 different dollhouse tablecloths lmao

GT Borrower Challenge
Hi. I am starting a week long borrower challenge starting March 3rd-10th.
This challenge consists of building your own borrower house out of anything you desire as long as you don’t get caught “borrowing”.
Rule #1: You have to start from scratch! None of the materials can be yours(You can return the items back to their place after the challenge has ended)
you can start off with a cardboard box for the structure.
Rule #2: You can NOT be caught borrowing. If you do, then you are a failure to the borrower society and have only disappointed yourself.
Rule #3: You can include anything in your borrower home including weapons, tools, or food, heck, even clothing if you’re that ambitious. It just has to be realistic. For example, you can’t have doll furniture in your house, it would be best if you made your own out of stuff like playing cards, old match boxes, or aluminum cans or bottles. Rule #4: Your home has to be based on a specific size. It can be any size you choose, but remember, they are borrower’s and roughly 3-4 inches in height.
Rule #5: Have fun. This is just to see what your home would look like if you were a borrower.
Optional: When you’ve completed your borrower home, take a picture. Please tag me as I would love to see what you’ve come up with.

Okay tbh I'm sort of a book purist when it comes to The Borrowers, I feel like most of the adaptations made from them have failed to capture the energy of the originals quite right.
That being said, I do like many of them, and the ones you mentioned all hold a special place in my hearts
Secret World of Arietty
What can I say, it's my favorite Ghibli film, maybe one of my favorite movies ever. I feel like it comes the closest to replicating the feeling of the books, of the last family left in the walls of an old home.
2011 BBC TV movie
Okay this one I think is the best live action adaptation that has been made. It's certainly the funnest, if for no other reason than the cast. Seriously if you know anything about British actors and haven't seen it go find it right now, Stephen Fry plays the bad guy and one of the doctor whos is the dad (for some semblance of surprise in not saying which) . It's amazing. Also worth mentioning that for a TV movie from over a decade ago its for pretty solid vfx, when it uses them

Ah, the classic. If you ask someone who lived in the 90s or even the 2000s what The Borrowers is this is probably the answer they'd give. To be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of the art direction that it went with, but it goes without saying that it has the greatest special effects of probably any g/t film made to date.
But honestly, my favorite borrower adaptations are probably all the fanworks made by the people in this community. Honestly I don't know too much about fandom stuff, I'd say I've only been in this sort of community for maybe 3ish years if that but the sheer volume of quality stories made by everyone here, regardless of fandom, will never cease to astound me.
Fan works have made me get into fandoms, and sometimes I don't even know a darn thing about the source material. One of my favorite stories on here is the Ratattourney AU created by @spirit-small but especially the comics done for it by @musicallygt but I know nothing about Phoenix Wright except maybe courts or something idk. I don't keep many saved tags on here, but one of them is #borrower au, artist I just like seeing the stuff that people do with the concepts of these works combined, even if I'm going in somewhat blind.

Okay idk if you meant like separately or all together but I'm just imagining things going the way of far too many Mario Party games and things escalating and all of a sudden
The fairy is sulking on the highest shelf they can find bc they came dead last even though they were in the lead before bonus stars
The borrower and little are in a shouting match because the little used their tail to distract the borrower in the middle of a minigame they had a solid chance of winning
The tiny has lost gaming privileges once everyone realized they had played the game a bunch before they shrunk and had memorized every minigame
And watching this turmoil unfold around them, their human friend just has to sit there and try to get them to talk it all out. At least it's not as bad as the time they all played monopoly together...

Things Humans And Tinies Both Find Terrifying
Okay I know that this is a bit of a lowkey note to come back to after an accidental 6 month hiatus (again, I have no f'n clue how time got away from me like that, sorry guys) but regardless here we go. In honor of spooky season here's some things that would terrify both human and smallfolk alike
House fires
Look, being stuck in a burning building is bad enough, but being stuck in the walls of a burning building? Yeah that's making a bad situation far worse if you ask me
Spiders
Alright, so some humans' fear of spiders may not be quite as justified to the same extent as somebody who's only maybe 6 inches tall, but the point remains.
Unfamiliar noises in the walls/floors
Who knows what could be there, nobody can really escape the fear of that which goes bump in the night... unless of course you have a cat, then you've got your explanation right there. Of course, that in and of itself would be cause for fear should any tiny cross its path...
Injury while isolated
I mean really, isn't the fear that you'll get hurt and nobody will be there to help universal? Idk this ones a bit more of a downer but sometimes existential fear is the scariest thing one can experience.
The serious threat posed by Mothman
Like, seriously. We have no clue what that thing is or what it's intentions are. What is it? What are its intentions? Spooky.
